Busy Saturday, dead Sunday (WoW)

Saturday was busy as heck, all of it focused on Clove.

Got about 200 levels of herbalism.
Did two levels of XP, ending on 75.
Trained archaeology, nearly maxed it a few moments later (520).
Dropped herbalism, did alchemy 1-525.
Got a good chunk of enchanting done, though not maxed.

As I worried, questing on a clothie was painful as heck. At 74 I decided to quest instead of archaeology, but I wanted it to not be hard, so I went to Howling Fjord. I died. More than once. c.c

Sunday was just the opposite. I sat at the AH nearly all day, and it was wonderful. Made money, relaxed. I snagged mats as they appeared, and nearly capped Clove's enchanting (got to 521). I feel like I've never spent so much gold on any profession. Just the rods alone were insane. The last rod required 6 heavenly shards, each costing about 100 gold (none cheaper to DE myself).
And that was only one mat, the rod needed other expensive things, too. The rod requirement would be okay if the rest of the profession were free to level, but it's far from it.

Oh well, now I can focus on using the profession to make money back. Last time I had an enchanter, I did nothing with it (thus dropped it when it was maxed *sob*), but this time I'm going to stay on top of things and keep using it.

One of my larger fears for MoP is that alchemists will no longer be money-makers. Clove is maxed alchemist #9.

Yeah, enchanting is the worst to level fast. Crazy expensive. But it's awesome when you have it leveled and you realize you need to enchant a new piece of equipment and you can do it yourself.

As for solo-questing as a cloth-wearer... I found it a pain as Lucro the werelock until I switched to Demonology. Now he lets the felguard do all the heavy lifting. Pocket tank! :D

I think that's my OS, but it's been so long since I used it, I can't even remember! I should have checked and switched.

Ya, enchanting is crazy if you try to power it up, it would break lesser banks. I remember when Cata hit and the beginning of WotLK, I pretty much sat at the bottom of the tier for whatever level I was questing in. When I started to find items I couldn't DE I would work my skill up until I could DE them and then just sell everything else for massive profits.

I find enchanting really works best if it's on a character you use a ton. Not necessarily because you get to enchant your own gear (which is nice in itself) but that you just kind of end up with dust/shards/gear so you can make money without really trying to. Like usually if I went and did Heroics for a day in WotLK I could make a 500-1k gold (nearing the end of WotLK so prices were lower, plus shitty roll luck) easily and end up with a bunch of new gear from badges and such. Was really nice.

Yeah, having an enchanter makes me wish I did instances and raided! All my greens/blues come from the AH. :/

And I leveled my first one at the beginning of Cata, too. Unfortunately I was lacking an important piece of knowledge: That you could put the enchant onto a scroll (AND SELL THAT!), I had a set of low level armor that I just kept enchanting to skill up... Sigh.

It's too bad you focus so much on the alchemy, it's super easy to level up enchanting if you have crafting professions to make gear to de. Also a nice way to make money. I prospect ore, transmute the uncommon reds into rare reds to cut and sell (and cut and sell the various rares too, of course), then make the rest into jewelry to de and sell. Alchemy, jc, and enchanting synergize very nicely with each other.

Yeah, I did that early on, the obsidium shuffle. I do have a JC, so I should look into doing that again...
