LJ is a few million times more stable now than it used to be, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't worry about losing content or the whole site vanishing overnight. Backups are important! But the LJ Archive tool stopped working a year or so back, so what's a person to do? Nothing but wait and hope...

IT'S BACK! Yay! You can download the new version here. Someone paid a coder real money to fix it, woot! So go forth and make backups! You'll thank yourself later, if anything happens to the site. Need more reason than that? There's a search function for all your old posts AND comments left on them!

The spoiler: It's small but big. Hmm, or rather, it's about a thing that's big to me, but not a plot point so it counts as small? About a character from the first series...

ZUKO IS STILL ALIVE! EEEE! Maybe we'll get to see him again! (Info comes from official site.) I'm even more excited now. :D New ep tomorrow! Yay!

Ellie New Cat, after living with me for a year and three months, is finally acting like a normal cat. She has Opinions on things, but that's perfectly fine. Cats can have Opinions, they're known for it. I don't think there's anything left that she's scared of though. (Edit: Not counting when strangers come in the apartment. She goes back to that 'eyes wide with fear' thing then.) She doesn't like it when I'm in bed. I have no idea why, she's underfoot and meowing for pets or to be picked up until then, and she likes standing on the bed herself, it's just me in bed that makes her head for the door.

I wish she would go back to being scared of some things, like my feet. She likes to be underfoot, so I have to stop and pat her. Problem is, I'm really afraid of stepping on her. Worse yet, she likes to be "under wheel" -- my desk chair has wheels, and she's willing to sleep right next to them... The damage it would do a poor little kitty paw or tail if I ran over it!

So yay archives, yay Korra, and yay kitties!

Ninja the barn cat likes to be underwheel. And underfoot. And underhoof. Thank god she's a cat.

She's almost killed me on several occasions though because she's like a cinder block against by shins and then I go to walk and almost trip. She likes to STAND BETWEEN THE BACK LEGS of certain horses and I'm like.. wtf. Do you want to get stepped on? But if they so much as twitch their tail wrong she knows what to do to get the hell out. She also sits under the muck cart and miraculously can sense when to move so she doesn't get run over.

I don't get it. A million and one places to perch and you choose these?

Life on the edge, I guess.

*snickers* Most cats like to nap. Her? She needs excitement, needs risk! Other cats eye her, then roll over in their sleep.

(I'm glad she's been safe so far!)

Holly the Yarnmonster is an underfoot cat... to the point where if you nudge at her with your foot to ask her to move out of the way, she merely flops over onto her side and puts her paws RIGHT WHERE YOU WANT TO STAND, unlike other, saner cats. I have also developed the precautionary habit of never moving my chair unless I know where she is first - not that I've run over any bits of her so far, but darned if I want it to happen even once. :P :)

Ha! That's quite a "skill" she has! :P I hope all your kitties continue to keep all their bits un-stepped on and un-rolled over!

She is an extremely skilled kitteh! She plays fetch, finds and steals yarn no matter where it's hidden, possesses mind-control powers, and is magically able to be flopped on the floor right in the way whenever you want to go somewhere. :P Hugs and ear-skritches to Ellie. :)

I have a rolly chair in the studio, and I always worry about squishing random kitty parts as well! I have to check before moving. Fortunately(or unfortunately) my cats prefer to be on top of the desk, pestering me a a closer distance. Suzy kitten likes to dip her nose into whatever it is I am drinking. I love my cats but I don't want to share snot! I keep a lid over mt drinks...

Hooray for Ellie New Cat!

Yes! Ellie did the same thing. I bought some of these cups (http://www.amazon.com/Copco-Sierra-24-Ounce-Tumbler-Royal/dp/B003H9NITQ/ref=cm_cr-mr-title) in various colors. After knocking them over now and then, I've come to like them a lot! Defense against curious cat noses, and spillproof!

I'm glad that Ellie has made such a breakthrough!
