I have mixed feelings on the ending. A few things I liked, a whole lot I didn't. I think I frowned through the last hour/two eps, which makes me sad.

I know that the series was SO GREAT that the ending would have a hard time living up to it. But that the series was so good... shouldn't the ending have been just as good?

Things I didn't like, not a complete list:
-How did Korra know the secret way in? She's new to the city, she arrived not long ago. How did she suddenly know another way to get in?

-I didn't like Amon's entire background. The whole 'evil father' thing just felt so cliche.

- How exactly does one remove bending ability with blood bending? Does that mean the ability to do it is granted by some physical part of the body? That makes no sense to me.

- Mako. TRUE WUV. The ending. I can't even write more on this point. I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! Why? Other than schoolgirl crush (which, okay, Korra is a teenager, but that still annoyed me).

- Bolin at the end. In my opinion, he's not funny. He's annoying. (But then, I felt the same about Sokka and he was filling that role.)

- Bumi (jr). I've had quite enough of this whole 'grandkid is the same as the grandparent' thing. WHY is he just a younger version of the previous character?

- Iroh (jr). I went from YAY ZUKO'S VOICE to ...ugh. It still doesn't fit, and it was really jarring. Why does the general sound like an angsty teenage boy? Also: It annoys the heck out of me when a character can suddenly fly an airplane.

Things I liked:

- The final end with Tarrlok and Amon in the boat. I thought/hoped he would kill his brother directly, but blowing them both up fit better.

Things I'm not sure about:

- Korra getting her bending back. I guess I'm okay with it, but... mostly I was really rather annoyed at this point and was having a hard time caring or forming an opinion.

- Korra returning everyone's bending. I assume she will. (My recording cut out just as she returned Beifong's, so if there was something about everyone else's after that, I missed it.)

Feels like I should have more in this post besides just cut text...

Plot holes and deus ex machina and familial murder-suicide all in an 11am time slot!

Yeah, that was a disappointing finale. I understand that they only had one season to work with and were given the go-ahead for a second very late in production, but that doesn't excuse how rushed the last two episodes felt. There was just a lot happening there that should've been spread out in all the episodes leading up to them to make the reveals feel less contrived and, eh, bad.

Ha ha yes! It amused me that every time they shot a plane down, they were sure to show a shot of the pilot parachuting down to the ground. No death here!
...unless you're in a boat.

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I really did want to like it, I was settled in for a great hour. Then it all just went bad. :/

I think Korra knew another way in because it was in the Arena, aka the Pro Bending Arena, where she spent several episodes sneaking into. So that one works.

Was it the arena they were sneaking into? I thought she had said the temple. I know the arena was where they (as guards) were sent to... Arena would make more sense though.

They were sneaking into the air temple. I assume it has to do with the kids, like they would use it to sneak around the temple if they wanted to and Korra either caught them or they showed her one night.

That could work. Would have been nice if they showed it, but that's the least of my issues with the ending.

The only thing I can think of with blood bending removing other bending is that maybe he just messed with the brain to make their actions a little off. They had mentioned he used his mental blood bending to control the shots of benders so he could avoid them and maybe he messes with their nerves enough so their attempts at bending form aren't right anymore. I don't know, I'm kind of grasping at straws a bit for it. My whole third eye chakra theory made more sense to me then this but oh well. They needed to elaborate on that.

I'm ok with the whole "Character learns to fly" thing since at least they showed him really struggling the first time he got his hands on the yoke. Honestly with airplanes I've always seen it as an "easy to use, hard to master" thing. I mean hell I've flown a plane before. I didn't take off or have to land but when we were up in the air I've actually flown one. Once he figured out how moving the yoke this way makes it go here and going this other way makes it go somewhere else then I could see him getting control of it. Like I doubt he could do loops or barrel rolls or even land without crashing but just staying up there, not that tough.

I think the main issue I have with the whole ending of the season was that everything just went too fast. Like, how did Tensen get caught?! I would have like to have seen that, I bet it was one hell of a fight! Or at least if you were going to have them captured give us an explanation.

I figure she'll give bending back to everyone else. They just didn't show it but I figure it'll happen.

Heh, yeah, Tensen fighting to keep his family from being caught would have been epic.

And huh! I hadn't known that about airplanes, thanks! I'm surprised, but if I'm ever on one and the pilot falls over, I'll be happy I know that. :P

And I don't know about the blood bending. I really wonder what the writers were thinking...

Ya, people have this thing about airplanes being these big complicated behemoths that are impossible for a normal person to just use. Part of that's because you see all the buttons and gauges and stuff so people talk themselves out of it and go "I can't possibly do that". Sure, everything has a purpose and the plane is complicated but in terms of controlling your location and speed it's not that impenetrable. I'm fairly positive if for whatever crazy reason I had to fly a plane down to landing, I could. It wouldn't be a pretty landing but I wouldn't burst into flames at least. Well ok, there might be some flames.
