Crows like cat food...

Well. That explains why sometimes I came home to find stray kitty's bowl turned over or halfway across my yard... I guess it's not all that surprising that crows like cat food, since they'll eat just about anything.

Now I have no idea how much stray kitty really is coming around. And I'm not all that thrilled with crows eating the expensive cat food. (Stray cat is so skinny, I wanted to share Ellie's quality food with him.)

Ellie, on the other hand, thinks feeding crows is the bestest idea ever. If only the screen in the window wasn't in the way of her hunting.

Huh. I wouldn't have thought crows would be into cat food. Is it the wet kind? I've got less experience with wet cat food since my cats are almost completely uninterested in it.

Nope, the dry. They pick it up piece by piece and eat it. So odd.

I once had a magpie enter my bedroom to steal cat food. She came in through where my cat had ripped apart the insect net in the ventilation hatch, went over to the bowl of cat food, picked up as many pieces as could fit in her beak and left again. Came back multiple times.

It was kind of cute, except I hate being woken up in the morning.
