I'm having trouble concentrating on work today, so I've been poking at tumblr. This made me snicker out loud:



Does anyone else see the irony in the elephant being the symbol of the Republican Party?

Elephants live in matriarchal groups where males are excluded except to breed. They’re herbivores and are known to be highly empathetic to other elephants as well as their dead; if one elephant in the group is in trouble, all the other elephants will pitch in to help it out. They also practice collective raising of the young, with young elephants being tended to by all members of the herd.

You guys, elephants are socialist vegan feminists who support public education.

It’s also worth mentioning that most elephants are bisexual.

I actually managed a pretty big collection of "morbidly obese gay man porn" at one time. I probably still have it.

- Uh, I was trying to obscure one file within a bunch of similar files that would similarly horrify my now ex husband. I have no idea if he ever snooped, but I assure you he never found the file in question.

So lets talk about Pho instead.

Your distaste for Pho somehow turned into a craving for me...just FYI if you want to give Pho another chance I really liked these places.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/pho-viet-san-jose-4 There are like 2 of these locations surrounding my house on the same street lol. I liked it well enough but it has thicker noodles than Pho Nam and the broth is not as flavorful, also the meat is not as tender (so you would probably have to add sriracha...which is spicy...Pho Nam didn't NEED it).

So basically try Pho Nam if you want to give it another chance but Pho Viet is alright lol

You're welcome :). I definitely recommend Pho Nam if you want to give it another go, the other place is passable but not likely to convince you Pho is any good haha.

Pho Nam is right off of Lawrence off of that first right turn over the 101 overpass coming from Santa Clara. I'm sure if you've driven over there you've seen it...I've seen it for years but this was my first time going in.

I'd offer the place I get Pho...but I strongly doubt you'll ever be in TN. Only restaurant with Pho is 5 min from me, the next one is 100mi away. Delicious, and run by a little vietnamese grandmother who is sweet but will berate you for not telling her if you obviously didn't like the food. "Why you not tell me you no like? I go make you [string of vietnamese]. you like, i promise"
