* Freecycle: Less successful today. Posted about my floor-to-ceiling cat scratching post. Described it honestly as "well-scratched" in one section. Guy said he wanted it for his cat. Took 2.5 hours to deal with whole issue. When he arrived, he looked at it and drove off. Later emailed me saying it was "soaking wet" and he couldn't take it. (It was bone-dry, had been inside my apartment until I put it out for him.) Wasted time. Had to lug it down to the dumpster myself.

* New apartment requires renter's insurance. $100,000 worth of coverage. Who on Earth owns $100,000 worth of stuff? Set it up today. Luckily costs only $15/month.

* Threw out two black garbage bags full of stuff. How in the world do I own so much that that hardly makes a dent? Going to have to make trips to donate stuff before the end of packing. I had hoped to make one trip at the end, but already have two black garbage bags full of stuff for them.

* Lord, am I tired. Thankfully I work a desk job, because coming home to six hours of physical work is killing me. Hopefully not literally. Six hours last night, six tonight, and again, not even a dent.

* I feel like I'm going about this in the wrong way. Previous moves I did all of one room, then moved on to the next. This time I feel like I'm fluttering: Pack a drawer here, take the stuff off a wall there, pack a shelf of stuff.

* Was going to wait until the weekend to get boxes, but I think that's holding me up. Going to go tomorrow.

* So tired. So very tired.

Aw, man. You should've mentioned the cat scratching post, I'm far more interested in that than the movies/games. :P

You should list the stuff you're trying to Freecycle here and let me have a shot at it too. :)

Oh drat! I didn't think of that at all, sorry! (It's been outside overnight, but I could rescue it this evening if you still want it? It's by the dumpster but not in it.) One section is well-scratched as I said, if your cats scratch the same spot as mine, eventually it will give out, but the other sections are in good condition.

And for sure! This is what I'm planning on freecycling at this point:
* The vacuum you already passed on, unless you changed your mind? Upright, bagless, new-ish.
* There's also a TV (old style, pre-digital change, but it comes with that converter box and rabbit ears). It's smaller than my current TV, but wider (current one is flat). I want to guess 15 or 20 inches? (I could measure it tonight, if it matters.)
* Two very heavy pots. One is a stock pot, the other is a "normal" one. They're heavy enough to be cast iron (god, so heavy), but they have some kind of coating on them. The stock pot was used once, the other never.

That's my list for now. I don't think my Goodwill pile would be of much interest to you. Stuffed animals, random nicknacks... hey, do you want a Harry Potter cookie jar? :P

I have a scratching post that's currently falling apart, so... :) Any chance you could take a photo of it and either send it to me or post it?

And if those pots are cast iron (enameled), I may definitely be interested in them. Same deal--any chance I could see photos?

I can't get to your place today, but I could swing by tomorrow after work to pick them up.

Can take pictures tonight! (Assuming no one has moved it from near the dumpster to inside it.) I'll link you to the pictures this evening.

Okay!

Pots (http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/freecycle/freecycle3.jpg)

Whole cat tree (http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/freecycle/freecycle1.jpg). Poor picture of the damaged section (http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/freecycle/freecycle2.jpg). The inside of the tree is a very thick/heavy cardboard tube -- I only discovered it because Dax had scratched down to it (Ellie has no interest in it at all, other than sitting on the base of it).

Let me know if you want either! If you want the tree, I'll pull it back here and keep it in my porch area (safe from sprinklers and such).

I have no idea how I'll get the cat tree home, but sure, I'll take both it and the pots. :)

Is 5:15-5:30 tomorrow good for you?

I think we can split it in half (or even quarters). Originally it was mailed to me in four pieces and I had to hand screw them all together (by just twisting it).

5-5:30 tomorrow is great! Still have my address? Trotting out to drag it back to my place!

If it comes apart, awesome! That should work.

Pretty sure I have your address but even if I don't, I remember where you live (for NOW). :)

It's safe and secure back in my porch. Ellie is looking out the window at it, and appears very confused as to it being on the wrong side of the window.

I'll tell you where I'm moving tomorrow! Or toss you an email. :)

You have my sympathies - few things in life are more stressful than moving.
Especially that part about throwing out large trash bags and not seeing much of a difference. So demoralizing.

For sure! I keep telling myself that it'll be all over in a month. I'm trying not to think about all the unpacking that will come next. :P At least that won't be on a deadline!

I moved five and a half years ago and I still have a couple of boxes that haven't been entirely unpacked. -_-'

Yeah, I still have unpacked boxes from my last move. 13 years ago. Everything in them will be thrown out!

I think that moving is one of the most stressful and tiring things there is.

For sure. I keep telling myself it will be over soon... (other than the unpacking!)

The unpacking is such a pain, you're so tired from the actual move and then you have to face the unpacking. UGH!!
