AMC posted a new web series, all three parts released at once. First one:

Watching Walking Dead shows me just how much of a chicken I am. I squeaked out loud at one point, and spent most of the time through eps two and three hugging myself.

And S.H.I.E.L.D.! Eee! I liked last week's ep, but I liked this week's even more. (Other than Skye, I really dislike her a lot.)

I'm having such a hard time with the Avengers not knowing Coulson is alive though. Hawkeye especially. (Yeah, I know, fanfic is of course not canon at all, and there's no canon relationship, but still!) It feels cruel not to tell them. Mostly I try to just ignore that feeling and enjoy the show.

My apartment building was made well, sound-wise. It's nice and quiet, and most noises don't carry well. One noise does come through, but muffled enough that it's hard to identify exactly what it is. It's always right around 10 PM. It sounds like it could be:

A cat in heat.
A dog howling/whining.
A newborn baby crying.
Loud sex (a woman).

Since it only seems to happen once a day, I'm thinking it's the last one. It's right over my bed, which makes it more disturbing. I haven't crossed paths with the people upstairs yet, and I hope that continues -- I'd be quite embarrassed, even not being sure exactly what the noise is.

Have you watched Sleepy Hollow at all? The new TV series. I've liked it a lot so far. While there have been a few times I've rolled my eyes at stupidity to push plot, there's enough to keep my interest. It's a nice twist on the idea. :)

Not yet, but I've heard good things about it! I need to check it out/catch up! How many eps have there been so far? Is this week the second?

Rdit: ... Thanks for the link! I didn't check it until after I commented. Woot!

I have only watched the first episode of Sleepy Hollow, but aside from some of the cheesy-campy moments that kelen commented on, I found a lot in it to love. I don't think it will be a *good* series but I think it will be a *fun* series, and that's even better, sometimes.

Ah, that's good to know! I should have checked it out last night when I was bored. This weekend!

I'd be quite embarrassed, even not being sure exactly what the noise is.

.... so would I in your place. Eep!!

Where's your competitive spirit? Given similar scenarios, most girls I've dated would take that as a challenge. Think that's a loud orgasm...

I keep forgetting to Tivo S.H.I.E.L.D. I loved the Avengers so I expect I would like that too, but it is hard finding the time to watch TV.

I love Tivo's season pass feature. My memory is horrible, but Tivo remembers for me! Then when you do have time to watch, you can watch a few eps in a row.

I have no idea how I lived before Tivo! :P

Me too! That is about the only way I watch any TV nowadays. Not to mention you can skip all the commercials.

Yes! Pause TV live, fast-forward through commercials, it's the best.

Why do you dislike Skye?

Just about everything. I don't like how she talks or what she says. She lives in a van, yet has perfect hair? She feels more like a character type than a real person (like the character is there more to fill a role than anything else). Every time she spoke or appeared on the screen, she just annoyed me. I've been sitting here trying to pin down exact details, but I keep coming up with "everything". Heck, I disliked her before she even said anything! I can't remember the last time I had such a strong, immediate reaction to a character. I don't like her at all.

1) Walking Dead: I made it 15 minutes into the first episode. He was in a dark stairwell in the hospital where he'd woken up and something smelled bad just before the door closed. He was scrambling for a match and I was scrambling for the remote to turn off the tv, turn it off, turn it off BEFORE he gets that match lit! because I knew I didn't want to know what it was he smelled.

2) S.H.I.E.L.D.: I love Coulson. I love that the show references Avengers all over the place ('I don't think Thor is technically a god.' 'Well, you haven't been near his arms'). I love Melinda May and Fitz-Simmons. The main dude leaves me stone cold disinterested in anything about him. I don't remember his name from episode to episode. And like you, I hated Skye with a passion from the first moment. It feels like Joss wanted to re-cast people who resembled David Boreanaz and Eliza Dushku as much as possible, and I never much cared for Angel and Faith, either.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is fun, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I guess it's not fair to compare the first episode to Firefly, but that show had a vibrant cast that shone from the very first episode. I'm not getting that here, and I think part of it, for me, is composition. At a glance, it's Coulson and May plus a Bunch of Young White People Who Are All Stereotypically Beautiful. Meh.

On Coulson: There are a lot of hypotheses that he's a Life Model Decoy, and Hill (thinks she) is keeping a secret from him... but I don't know. That seems too obvious for Whedon. He's said Tahiti is a 'magical place' more than once. I think something else is going on. And I think Phil knows.

Haha, sorry! Very long comment. But I haven't gotten to discuss S.H.I.E.L.D. with anybody yet. :)

1) Yeah, Walking Dead is really hard for me to watch, especially since it's on right before I go to bed! It scares me, which is one thing, and it's gory, which is something I really don't like, so I'm not sure why I stick with it. I do like 'end of the world' stories, so it might be that part that keeps me going. (And the fear is kind of exciting, if only it didn't give me nightmares.)

2) re-cast people who resembled David Boreanaz and Eliza Dushku as much as possible

That's EXACTLY how they feel. I can never remember the guy's name either, but unlike Skye, I'm just indifferent about him, so I always just gloss over him in my mentions of the show.

Agreed with you that it's no Firefly. It's not even close.

Coulson and May plus a Bunch of Young White People Who Are All Stereotypically Beautiful. Meh.

Agreed. I have this hope that Skye (and male lead what's his name, when I think about him) get killed off to make the team draw together more, but... I know that's really unlikely.

Agreed too that LMD is likely too obvious. Someone else said they think that Asgard had something to do with it (Tahiti = Asgard, a magical place). Loki wrongly killed Coulson, so someone in Asgard made it right. (Plot hole with that: What about all the other people Loki killed? Did they all get brought back, too?)

I have a personal little headcanon thing that makes all this work for me: People (some Avengers, some SHIELD people) went to Asgard to argue for the return of Coulson. Someone there finally agreed, but there has to be balance -- something big would have to be given up for the return of Coulson's life. Coulson's love. All memories of the Coulson/Hawkeye relationship would be wiped from his mind if he was brought back. And of course they agreed to that.

Ha! I was thinking the Asgard angle, too. You know Thor would argue for it. And he's got Dear Old Dad to call upon. (Plus, I like the idea that Thor knows Coulson is alive, but isn't telling. So at least one of the Avengers would be aware.) Answer to your plot hole: Coulson is a valiant warrior. Valiant warriors get major props in Asgard. Coulson earned every bit of that favor.

Plus-plus, I can see Fury telling Hill that Coulson's a LMD and she should never ever discuss it with Coulson, to avoid Hill asking why Coulson gets special favor over all the other dead people. Wow, you know, when we think about it.. SHIELD is full of tricky dishonest folks...

That is what I like to imagine, anyway.

I have not followed the Coulson/Hawkeye stuff - fanfiction? - but I know how much fun headcanon can be! Of course, I am rooting for Coulson's cellist. Because if he has a cellist thing, well, I play the cello too. He can come visit me anytime~ <3

A fic I read said Frigga, Thor's mother, is the goddess of healing, life/death, etc. Quick googling doesn't confirm that (doesn't state what she's the goddess of), but if that's true, that would be an easy person for Thor to go to.

Ah! And true! Good thought about him being a warrior and that counting.

SHIELD so is, which is why it makes me grin endlessly. The good guys aren't fully good, yay grey! (I typoed 'fully' as 'filly' -- now we need a SHIELD/My Little Pony crossover!)

Yeah, Coulson/Hawkeye is all fanfic, not a single root in any canon. (I've not read the comics, but if there were mention of it there, I'm certain it would make it out into fan circles.)

Haha! If he does come for a visit, you better take some pictures to share! Coulson's the best, and his actor is great, too.
