thistlechaser: (Book with cat: Scared)

If a bad book is really, really bad, sometimes it goes right around the bend to the point of being amusing. I think any of these six books would likely do that, but which one would be best/worst?

You pick the one I'll read!

I'm in the middle of one book now, and the next book has to be one I already agreed to review, so whichever one wins this poll will be the next one read after that.

[Poll #1967498]

Seduced by Werebees-- oh, per Amazon that title should be "Taken by Swarm - Seduced by WEREBEES", hahah that makes it better/worse. The idea of werebees, let alone werebees seducing someone, tickles me endlessly.

Someone to Cuttle made me snicker out loud though.

Her Tom, Her Lover has such potential for being amusingly bad. (But heck, which of these doesn't?)

Owl, tortoise, and platypus (were-owl, were-tortoise, and were-platypus?) as main characters in a romance book... I have no idea.

Use your power wisely, everyone. The book you pick might just be the one to finally break my brain.

I think the Platypus should get top billing.

I'm tempted to just read them all! Platypus is currently tied for first place, but it's still early in the voting.

Oh my god XD

But I've got to go with the were-bees, because, like, the mechanics are (presumably) even more brain-breaky than the playtpus, cuttlefish (aww XD), et al

Yeah, I think I might have to read the werebees one even if it doesn't win. It's just so boggling!

... No, I'm just going to go pretend these don't exist again, because I was happier not knowing.

SERIOUSLY, WEREBEES?!?!?!?!?

They all look a bit highbrow for me. I think I may read something of that ilk next.

The werebees would be especially highbrow, since they can fly upwards! ;)

They all look gloriously terrible. In fact, I have a hard time believing that you didn't just photoshop that array of 'book covers' as a joke!

I know! Don't they seem like they were photoshopped as a horrible joke?

Some of the Amazon descriptions make them sound even more of a joke:

He takes advantage of the secluded pond system behind his rented cabin to go swimming…in his platypus form. Living with his aunt and uncle, Kai had never met anyone else with the ability to turn into an animal. That is, until he gets himself snared in a beaver trap and a penguin shifter rescues him.

Turns out the platypus-shifter and the penguin-shifter become soulmates. I'm dying here!

I just discovered that this animal shifter romance novel thing is a thing. There's tons of books like these out there! I made a new post with some of them.

These are real? You aren't playing an April Fool's sort of joke on us a month late?

Are these published by "real" publishers or self-pubbed?

I...I need to go scrub my eyes now.

They are indeed real. Not only are they real, turns out there's a whole lot of them! One author alone has written 40 or so of them... (I made another post once I discovered that.)

I strongly suspect they're self-published. Also, a lot of them look very short (getting $5 for 50 pages of story isn't bad, huh?).

Edit: The prices really are crazy. Werebees is 11 pages long and costs $3.

They are all rather mind boggling, but I have to vote for the werebees one. Just because I can't wrap my brain around how that could possibly work. XD

Sam I Am was very curious about the "Her Tom,Her Lover," but I think he is too young to read interspecies smut.

Poor Sam I Am! He'd be better off sticking with The Cat in the Hat. Out of all six, I do think Her Tom, Her Lover would be the most likely for me to enjoy (instead of enjoying because it was so bad). Just seems like the best idea of the bunch.

I read the blurb on Amazon, and I went from wanting to read the Werebees because it would be bad, to almost somewhat interested for real:

WARNING: This 3,300+ words story features graphic descriptions of very adult situations of MANY KINDS, some of them EXTREMEly unusual, and many involving a LOT OF CAKE. It is intended for mature audiences only. For readers 18 years+. All characters are over 18.

And from a review:
For the price of a latte, you can read the sexy, luscious adventures of big, beautiful Belinda and the werebee men of Nectar. They bring her delectable treats, in a swarming seduction of food, sex, and sensuality.

Ahaha, I might have to read that one.

The prices are really out of line. Werebees is only 11 pages long, but $3. I hadn't realized how short these were! That's going to limit how many I get, I'm sure.
