Some insane very very dedicated fan made a Pokemon game that's at least as good as the original (I think it's actually better). You can download the demo for free here.

This is the starting town:


I don't usually care about music in a game, but I love it in that one (especially in the second town). It has the exact feel of the original game, but all the pokemon are new (and have the expected punny names -- Cubzero, an ice cat, is my current favorite one).



Larger, non-pixel version.

For something fan-made, it's surprisingly bug-free. I'm having lots of fun playing it! If you like Pokemon, you should check it out as well.

Hmm, maybe something for a future attempt at a Nuzlocke run.

Although I am horribly bad at Nuzlockes. I have never beaten one in what is probably at least fifty attempts by now.

*googles* Huh! I hadn't heard of that before, but it looks like a lot of fun. I'm not sure if it would work for Sage though (at least the demo), there are only 10 pokemon total and no gym battles yet (that I found, but I keep getting lost in the caves, so I might just not be reaching other towns).

I don't know if there's a full version coming or is out already or what. *googles* Looks like they're still working on it, so hopefully there will be a full version soon.
