Might I interest you in an adult Doctor Who movie?

I'm not a Doctor Who fan, but the above image made me snicker, so I decided to share this.

While I haven't watched it, the movie is free to watch online (if you're over 18). It is, of course, NWS. Porn and all.

Reviews say parts of it (the non-sex stuff: costuming and effects) are surprisingly good, but the sex is bad. That about matches up with the porn versions of the Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, all those movies.

Unrelated: While I 100% failed on my diet today (or, well, 66% I guess -- breakfast and lunch), I seem to be on track to succeed on the sleeping end of things. I (sadly) bowed out of a good RP scene so I could go to bed.

On! And gonzostar (or anyone), do you have a protein shake you like? I tried to research it tonight, but opinions on brands/flavors are surprisingly hard to find. I must be failing in my searches, because the opinions have to be out there somewhere. I need to start shopping for the shakes, powders, and the special vitamins soon.

Must not get nervous. Still lots of time left to figure all this out. *meditation noises*

I drank Premier Protein mostly. You can get it by the case at Costco. They're pretty good but I am currently burnt out. ;)

The other thing I did was order a sampler pack of the Syntax Nectar powders online. They have some amazing flavors and variety.

I've been thinking about getting a Costco membership just to be able to get the Premier Protein. That's been the one most mentioned in classes as what people like. Oh hey, you can get it from Amazon! Woot!

I'm going to check into the Syntax Nectar powders online, too. A sampler pack is just what I'm looking for -- I have no idea what flavor I'll like after surgery, since apparently how you taste things can change.

Not sure the exact purpose you need a protein shake for (I lift weights and crap), but FWIW I keep a canister of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Natural Casein. Most protein shake mixes have sucralose which I can't have, and it was a pain in the butt to find one without artificial sugars.

Taste-wise...not bad. Texture is the tough part - it doesn't quite dissolve very well, and the resulting beverage is the texture of melted ice cream - very smooth but thick. Of the protein shakes I've had, it tastes the least bad. If I focus on certain aspects of it, it tastes like a melted Wendy's frosty.

For about six weeks after surgery, I'm going to be "eating" only protein shakes (or other things of that consistency, no solid food). So I need shakes plus protein powders (for adding to milk or Jello or something).

Optimum has a buttload of flavors too, and you can get it fairly cheap on netrition.com; I like the cake batter and malted milk ball flavors.

You can also google some companies and they'll have sampler packs, I know EAS does (they were okay, I liked the ice cream sandwich flavor, but not enough to get a bigass tub of it), and About Time does sampler packs also (I like their mocha mint).

Best friend's favorite is I think EAS Dessert. I know it has DESSERT in big letters on the front. She likes the cinnamon roll flavor.

Optimum used to sell a 16 flavor variety pack box, but they stopped doing it, I can only assume because they hate me personally. ;_;

One of my favorite protein-y breakfasts is a scoop of some delicious flavor of protein in green yogurt. This morning it is chocolate!

I really like the Special K shakes. I frequently substitute them for breakfast or lunch. I like the vanilla and strawberry best (but to be fair, I'm not a huge chocolate fan...)

I heard good things about how Special K shakes taste, but unfortunately the nutrition in them won't work at all for me. They have three times the sugar/carbs and one third the protein I need (which does explain why they taste so good!). :)

Gotcha... My wife is an endurance athlete, she drinks the stuff that's probably more down your road. Also, we're having friend over Monday, one of whom is a nurse practitioner in our bariatric program. I'll ask him for his thoughts as well.
