I'm going to start putting surgery updates behind a cut, to make them easier for people to skip if they're getting bored of reading about it.

Good news! Multiple good newses.

1) By their scales, I lose 7 pounds in a week. Why does it look different on my end? Maybe I missed recording a couple days/losses? Oh well, I'll take that!

2) I can not only start on the next stage of food (baby food/pureed foods) I only have to do it for three days! I thought it was two weeks! YAY! So counting yesterday, it's just today and tomorrow, then I can start normal (though very soft and moist) foods. YAY REAL FOOD SOON!

Today's new food was a tablespoon of scrambled egg with a little cheese in it. Yesterday's cheese sat in my stomach like a brick, but I think that felt better than whatever I'm feeling now. I'm not sure how to describe it. Uncomfortable and icky. I think I'll give it some time before I try egg again.

In other news, there's going to be a Tetris movie...

Link with info on it.

Who knew country music was big on, um, bestiality? C'mon, baby, let's Meow Mix it up tonight?

There a big difference between two weeks and three days! Nice! Even just trying new flavours..

This is entirely different but when I had a big stomach thing two years ago and finally started being able to eat again egg, despite being soft and things, was the last thing I wanted and it made me queasy like nothing else.

A Tetris movie. That's the most perfect thing I have ever heard.

Yes! Two weeks felt like forever, but three two days feels like nothing. Just tomorrow, then I can try real food!

Yeah, it took me almost four hours to 'recover' from eating the egg. I don't think I want to try that one again soon.

I'm so amused at the Tetris movie! It's either going to be good or so amusingly bad.

Your stomach has had massive trauma done to it and you haven't had solid food in a while. It's probably going to feel very weird for a while, while you adjust to the "new normal".

But hooray on the official weight loss and for finally getting to transition back to solid foods!

Agreed. It's funny, but I find myself wanting to just stick with the protein shakes. They're so easy and painless to have. Still, I can't wait for "real" food again. I'm really looking forward to having some (non-pureed) chicken.

Oh man, you're getting there! I'm happy for you!

Stupid question, but how much will you be able to eat at one time when everything is healed up properly? Will you have to follow a strict regimen for life?

Not a stupid question at all! Right now I can have about a tablespoon of food (the laughing cow wedge made me feel stuffed, so I wonder if that was more than a tablespoon). Then it'll go to a quarter cup, and eventually to a half-cup of food at a time. It'll be strict only in that I have to focus on protein before I can eat anything else. You need at least 60 grams of protein a day (very minimum), and that's quite a bit of food, so most of your food will be meat/protein sources.

Thank you for explaining. I'm totally ignorant since I don't know anyone who's had this procedure done. I'll be cheering you on in any case!

I'm happy to explain anything you'd like to know. :) And no worries, it took me forever to learn, too.

Yay for all the good news! Maybe your scale is not working?

That country singer guy is way too fond of his kitty...

That singer is really disturbing!

And I'm not sure, maybe it was my scale, maybe it was me... I guess we'll see in the coming months.

Yay for being able to eat real foods soon. I read back on your journal; yikes about the meds mix up. I'm glad your doctor caught it and, despite the rash, you're on your way back to healing.
I wish you a smooth recovery.

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm really glad about the real food, too. :D

Yay for getting to eat real food! And for more weight loss than you thought!

Tetris movie, huh... It just seems like such a joke concept, like that "Minesweeper" thing on CollegeHumor or wherever that was.

Yeah, I'm kind of eyeing the Tetris movie...

And yes, yay! Thanks!
