Amazon and B&N both sent me emails today, telling me that I have a credit from some class action suit about ebooks. The B&N didn't list an amount, but Amazon's given me an almost $75 ($72.60) credit. WOOT! I don't expect B&N's to be much, as I only ever bought three or four ebooks from them, but I'm impressed at how much Amazon's is!
"Apple, Inc. (Apple) funded this credit to settle antitrust lawsuits brought by State Attorneys General and Class Plaintiffs about the price of electronic books (eBooks)."
In other news, I finished this season of Orange is the New Black. Generally I enjoyed it, though there were some very unrealistic and heavy-handed parts that made me frowny.
Related: I'm seriously considering canceling Netflix, as there's never usually much of anything I want to watch online there anymore. I thought I'd never survive without TV service, but the less I watch, the less I want to watch, I suppose. Sense8 is the only other original series from them I'd be interested in catching, and Orange is the New Black is over for another year.

Date: 2016-06-21 07:40 pm (UTC)I only tested Netflix for a free trial period and then cancelled it. I can find any series I want to watch on my favorite streaming site, so why pay when I can watch for free? They have Sense8 too: http://thewatchseries.to/serie/sense8
Just make sure you have an ad-blocker installed, they have some pretty annoying pop-ups.

Date: 2016-06-22 01:14 am (UTC)There's just so much to watch, sometimes I feel overwhelmed! I've got shows on Netflix, Hulu, and DVDs from the library plus my parents let me use their HBO Go and FX log in so we need to finish 'Americans' and 'Game of Thrones' - and then 'Westworld' starts and I kinda watch to check that out.
GAH SO MANY SHOWS. So instead on read livejournal and play video games and they just pile up.
Sometimes I wish the shows I watched were more mindless so I could just have them on in the background while I did other things but, alas, I need to give them my full attention. Curse you well written dramas!

Date: 2016-06-22 02:51 am (UTC)I heard about the Ticketmaster thing, but you're the first person I know who got a voucher. The good thing about the Amazon credit is that I can use it on anything, not even just ebooks (or at least that's how the initial email reads). Hopefully the vouchers will cover something you want to attend.
