Amazon and B&N both sent me emails today, telling me that I have a credit from some class action suit about ebooks. The B&N didn't list an amount, but Amazon's given me an almost $75 ($72.60) credit. WOOT! I don't expect B&N's to be much, as I only ever bought three or four ebooks from them, but I'm impressed at how much Amazon's is!

"Apple, Inc. (Apple) funded this credit to settle antitrust lawsuits brought by State Attorneys General and Class Plaintiffs about the price of electronic books (eBooks)."

In other news, I finished this season of Orange is the New Black. Generally I enjoyed it, though there were some very unrealistic and heavy-handed parts that made me frowny.

Related: I'm seriously considering canceling Netflix, as there's never usually much of anything I want to watch online there anymore. I thought I'd never survive without TV service, but the less I watch, the less I want to watch, I suppose. Sense8 is the only other original series from them I'd be interested in catching, and Orange is the New Black is over for another year.

Wow that's awesome about the credit! :)

I only tested Netflix for a free trial period and then cancelled it. I can find any series I want to watch on my favorite streaming site, so why pay when I can watch for free? They have Sense8 too: http://thewatchseries.to/serie/sense8

Just make sure you have an ad-blocker installed, they have some pretty annoying pop-ups.

Ha! We use the same streaming site! I actually watched Orange is the New Black there, since Netflix kept erroring out... All the more reason to not pay for Netflix.

Edit: What bad timing. I was just billed two days ago, so it won't end until the 19th of July... Oh well.

I only watch two series (OITNB) and Game of Thrones, but all there. They've saved me a lot of money on DVDs. :)

In addition to those two, I watch a couple cooking shows (Master Chef/Master Chef Jr/Master Chef Canada). But that's about it. Now and then I poke around for some other show to get into, but nothing has hooked me lately.

I like cooking shows too. Master Chef is a good one? I'll have to check into that.

I enjoy them, especially the junior and non-US versions (they're less mean/yelling than the US adult one).

I received an Amazon kindle credit of about $100 some time in the last couple of years because of something similar... It's cool :)

My friend got that email today too. Earlier this week I got my "vouchers" from Ticketmaster for all the times they overcharged people on ticket shipping. Of course, they don't have any actual events listed that I can apply the vouchers too, but they are good until 2020 so hopefully a concert I want to see that works with the vouchers will be up by then!!

There's just so much to watch, sometimes I feel overwhelmed! I've got shows on Netflix, Hulu, and DVDs from the library plus my parents let me use their HBO Go and FX log in so we need to finish 'Americans' and 'Game of Thrones' - and then 'Westworld' starts and I kinda watch to check that out.

GAH SO MANY SHOWS. So instead on read livejournal and play video games and they just pile up.

Sometimes I wish the shows I watched were more mindless so I could just have them on in the background while I did other things but, alas, I need to give them my full attention. Curse you well written dramas!

Yeah, I really have a hard time with shows that I can't multitask during. I got all distracted with one of the last couple GoT eps, and ended up just listening to it instead of watching. Not quite as good!

I heard about the Ticketmaster thing, but you're the first person I know who got a voucher. The good thing about the Amazon credit is that I can use it on anything, not even just ebooks (or at least that's how the initial email reads). Hopefully the vouchers will cover something you want to attend.

Damn! I got an email from B&N, but not from Amazon. I buy books far more often from Amazon than I do for my nook, though. Come on!

I wonder what Amazon cheated you on? That's a lot for a class action lawsuit!

As far as I understand it, ebook prices. So the more ebooks you bought, the more money you get back.
