Things I Love
Dec. 13th, 2002 02:56 pmI don't know who
xenobia is, but I saw this on
mallen's friends' posts, so I figured I'd give it a try.
Things I love.
I love reading in bed at night, face down, and having my cat come to sleep on my back. She fits so well, sleeping in the curve of the small of my back, her chin on me. I love feeling the difference between the coolness of the pads of her paws, her fuzzy belly, and her breath on my skin.
I love driving alone when the road is open and long before me. Lost in my thoughts; my car smooth and quiet; the world stuck outside my window, unable to get in, just sweeping by. It's like flying.
Perhaps surprisingly, based on some of my other posts, there are things I love about my job. A customer who says 'Thank you, you really helped me', or 'You're the most patient person I ever met, thank you', or 'You have such a great voice, you sound so friendly'. It makes my day.
I love living alone. Having space and freedom. No one around to judge me, no one I have to adjust my actions (or wear pants) for. I can hop on one foot, laugh, cry, or sing, and no one is there to look at me funny. I can sit at the computer for 14 hours on a Saturday, and no one gives me a sidelong look and suggests I go outside and get some fresh air. All messes are made by me, all responsibilities are mine alone.
I love the history my MUSH has, as well as being the person with the best sense and knowledge of that history. Three years: lots of big events, lots of plots, lots of staffers, countless players... and I'm the one who knows it all best. I don't remember everything, but I remember a darned lot (where's that remembering ability when I need it for RL stuff?). Ask me the first time X happened on the game, and I can tell you. Ask why we do Y, and chances are I can tell you the whole tale behind it.
That's my list, off the top of my head at least. I'm so hungry I almost added 'food' to the list, but I think after I eat lunch/dinner I'd feel differently.
