Man, is it storming. We lost electricity for five to six hours. Once the sun went down, it was especially boring. Nothing like sitting in the total dark, no radio even, with nothing at all to do, no idea when power will return.
Needing batteries for flashlights, I went out in the afternoon to look for some. (Plan ahead? Me?) Most of the stores around here were closed because they had no power, and since I needed food anyway, I went down to a Chinese food place I like and the drug store near it. It would normally be a 15 minute trip. It took 45 minutes. I saw *four* trees down and blocking lanes. And talk about flooding! For the first time, I was wishing for one o those SUVs.
I wish I had brought my camera with me. There was a tree that fell on a brand new car. All the flooding would have been cool to shoot, too.
Upon returning with batteries, my radio still didn't work. Grr. Luckily my watch glows when you push a button, so I could watch the minutes tick by...
