thistlechaserI don't remember much of MUCK coding, it's probably been five years and even then I hadn't done much of it. I do remember one thing though: You were supposed to @lock all objects to 'me&!me'. Me and not me. So no one, including yourself, could pick it up. I never questioned the logic of that at the time (I was neither the main coder nor the back-up, just some third stringer), but sometimes even this much time later I still boggle a little.
Anyway. Wanna go home. Animal Crossing calls my name. All my villagers have personalities, and it's odd but I miss most of them during the day. (All except Jane, I hate her. She's a bitch and she calls me names. Worse yet, she corrupted my female wolf villager! Now she insults me, too!) I love checking my AC mail, digging fossils, pulling weeds. I seem to be a collector personality (as if Pokemon wasn't proof enough of that?). It makes me feel /good/ to get more items (you have a catalog of all the stuff you've ever owned. One of the potential goals of the game is to have owned everything.)
I wish I had more time in my life, more non-work time. Now and then I get the itch to RP, but where to fit it in? I already watch next to no TV. I read an hour a day before bed. Sometimes I eat. My only real option to RP is to do it from work, and for the last couple weeks/months it's been too darned busy/stressy for that.
Ah well. Home in a half-hour, if I'm lucky. Must do reports now.
