Odd Pairings

thistlechaserI've dug in my heels and am doing as little real work for my last hour here today as possible. It's been so busy my fondest wish was to crawl under my desk and hide. Still feel like crap.

isiscolo mentioned Dobby/Sorting Hat slash a while back, which has sort of gotten me curious about other odd pairings. I found this, Goyle/Colin. The writing (well, grammar I mean) isn't great (but it's not so bad it made me cry), and I don't believe the writer's description of Goyle (that he has the body of a Greek god! He's not really fat! It's just the robes making him look that way!)... but the story has some really interesting ... eh, how to describe it. The voice of the story is unique (in a good way). This little clip

Two months ago Colin would have been surprised Goyle knew that word. Two months ago Colin most certainly would not have muttered happily, "you too, huh?" and scooted closer, scraping his arse over the dungeon-rough flagstone in order to wrap a leg about Gregory Goyle's waist. He doubts he's at all seductive, but Greg leans over kisses him gives him tongue anyway.

really stuck in my mind for some reason. To me, that's a sign of a good story: If even after I'm done reading, some things stick with me and poke at my brain to keep thinking about them.
Bah, work calls. Want to write more about it! Maybe later.
