5" Disks, VCR Tapes, Cassette
May. 24th, 2003 11:44 amMy brain, half in the move-coming-soon mode, has been prompting me to clean and pack things. I'm boxing up stuff I've never used since unpacking them last, seeing what I can throw out and what I'm packing in the few boxes I have now.
I own way, way too many VCR tapes. My VCR is broken, I'm not intending to replace it, so what the heck am I going to do with all the tapes? There's lots of stuff on them that I want, but...
And worse than that, cassettes of music and such. It wasn't so long ago that cassettes were the new thing! Now with CDs, they seem so old... I don't have a cassette player anymore, but I don't want to throw all these out.
And oldest of all: big floppy disks. I still have DOS *boot* disks, from back before computers had harddrives. Some of these disks must have my earliest writings. I have a Rogue (game) disk from 1986 (which really doesn't seem very long ago, just a couple years...).
All this stuff makes me feel old (and dusty, I need to clean more often).
I also buy way too much stuff. I really need to get a ton of stuff listed on eBay.
