Dear Mr. God,
Yesterday it was 96, and that was just way too hot. Today it's supposed to be 102. Tomorrow 106. Though I am a disbeliever, please take pity on me and make it cool down soon.
Thanks,
Thistle

So as mentioned last night, I made a character on a Harry Potter MOO (online RPG). I wrote up the whole background and his past and family and all that with Slytherin in mind. His family has been in Slytherin since time began, his father killed off his older brother for being a squib... and my character just got sorted into Ravenclaw. Hee! I'll be ICly disowned! While I could have protested and asked for a second review, I decided to accept it and go with that. It should make for good RP, him being out of place. (He's got snakes embossed onto his belt, darned it all!)
In three day's time, I can start RPing with him and just assume he's always been around with the other first years, or I can wait until September and RP as part of the actual sorting. I really want to RP the sorting, but I'm not sure if I want to wait two *months* to start RPing...

I don't watch the news anymore, because mostly it just annoys me. I might have to expand this to listening to the radio. There was a story about the Supreme Court today, and how they made a decision on Texas's sodomy laws. They struck down Texas's law against (I believe) anal sex between two people of the same sex (it had not been against the law for two people of different sexes to do it). Their (good, understandable) reasoning was that the government had no right to get involved in sexual acts between two people in private. Reasonable, right? Well, then these irate people started talking. "This will open the door to same sex marriages!" they cried.
My god.
What the hell is wrong with you people? If you do not like it, then do not marry someone of your own sex. It's as simple as that. How does it hurt *you* if other people marry who they love, no matter that person's sex? It makes me want to strangle these people. I just cannot wrap my head around the idea of one person having the gall to assume that they have the right to decide someone else's morals.
It's a sad, sad thing.
