Sick kitty?
Aug. 7th, 2003 08:19 amI'm hoping my cat isn't sick. (And yes, since she had cancer and has a heart condition, I worry about this a lot.) Usually she gets up out of bed (my bed...) in the morning with me when my alarm goes off. She goes into the bathroom with me and sits on the counter while I brush my teeth and such, then she settles in to watch and wait for me to shower. After showering, she follows me through various rooms as I dress and get ready for work. This morning she didn't get out of bed. When I fed her, she went and ate a little, then returned to the bedroom and hopped back up onto the bed. I'm hoping she's just feeling lazy (maybe because it's so cool out??) not sick...
Until I started thinking about this, I didn't realize something odd is happening. It's August, but she's still shedding like crazy. I've been brushing her nightly and getting a lot of fur off, and she's thrown up three hairballs in about two weeks. Shouldn't they have long since stopped shedding by now? (She's a short haired cat. She usually has only one hairball every few months, and that's with nearly no brushing by me.)
