Movie Night... Day. Whichever.

thistlechaserIn an effort to catch up with things I have saved to view, I watched two movies today.
#1 - Finding Nemo - Cute. Touching ending. Not "the best movie ever!" or "the best animated movie ever!" as I was told, but still a fine movie for one viewing. I wouldn't sit through it again, though I might be willing to watch a couple scenes a second time if need be. The sea turtles entertained me more than they probably should have ("Like totally! Duuuude! Sweeet!"), but the seagulls were the best. I love seagulls anyway, and in the movie they were just so totally... seagullish ("Mine! Mine! Mine!").
Ellen DeGeneres as the voice of the sidekick fish was seriously distracting. It sounded like her, the real person, not a character. Kept knocking me out of the film's mood/reality.
#2 - Once Upon a Time in Mexico. This movie was either good or bad, depending on what you look for in movies. I think there was more sexiness in it than in any other movie in a long while, and there was a heck of a lot of violence, but the story? Either my attention span was either shorter than usual, or the story just plain sucked. Or both. But to be honest, the lack of a plot didn't overly bother me, I was just in it to look at the hot men. Ironic thing, Salma Hayek was darned sexier than either Antonio Banderas or Johnny Depp. They really could have had the three of them standing around with explosions and gunfire in the background, the three stars just posing for the whole movie, and I would have been happy.
Banderas in boots --yummy. And how the heck did Depp still look sexy with his eyes ripped out? Somehow the blood on his face enhanced his looks. Odd that. But seriously, if someone could get me a Salma Hayek for Christmas, I'd thank you!
Hm, slim pickings on things I still need to watch:
Second season of Spawn.
A season and a half of Oz (saw them all before, but that was years ago).
27 eps of Rurouni Kenshin (gah).
15 or so eps of Neon Genesis Evangelion (might not ever get watched).
11 or so eps of Azumanga Daioh (the anime with the funky opening song, also might never finish).
Apartment is a mess, but I'll have plenty of time to clean tomorrow. Damned, damned workers start hammering at 7:30 in the morning on the weekend, and they're working in the apartment right across from my bedroom. Fun.
Maybe instead of catching up on watching things, I'll catch up on reading fics. Since I can't read not-work-safe things at work (or at least I shouldn't read them there), I'm backed up on things to read or finish:

And Just Plain Wrong (Yes, I've *still* not read it. Bad Thistle, no biscuit.)
And there's another Hogwarts Rehab story up, too.
And... Sheesh. I should just go back a few hundred LJ posts and look for things I missed. Wouldn't it be smart of me to stick them all into a file when I saw them, so it'd be easier to find them later?
