Good Idea, Bad Idea

Bad idea: Having hair so long it touches your butt on days that it's 100 degrees out.

Even up in a ponytail (how I always wear it, it gets in my face/eyes otherwise) it still /feels/ hot. I want to shave my head. I should be brave and bold and do it...

But I guess I might get a sunburn on the top of my head that way.

Mmm, baked brains.

(Seriously: 4:54 PM, and it's 99 degrees out. Insanity!)

Have you tried braiding it? I used to wear my hair in a ponytail (though it's not quite down to my butt, it's about half-way down my back by now), and found that got really hot, but braiding it keeps the hair off the back of my neck, and makes me feel less hot. Though I can understand that very long hair would be almost impossible to braid without someone else helping...

I'd like to braid it, yeah, but it's so long it gets all tangled when I try to do it myself. Alas!
