Onk! Onk! Onk!
Oct. 6th, 2002 09:25 amI don't know if I'm on some sort of migration path or something, but for the last couple weeks a lot of geese have been flying overhead. It's a really keen thing, hearing a bunch of them honking together as they fly wherever. My cat, who has never seen a goose or had a chance to connect that onk onk sound to a bird, somehow is really attracted to the noise. She runs to the window and jumps up and looks out. Odd. Back when I lived in the crackhouse, which was only a 20 minute or so drive from here, I never heard them. I live by a golf course now, so maybe they're coming for the water and not heading somewhere for the winter... but then I lived across from a golf course in the crackhouse, too.
Sign that yesterday was in fact a relaxing day: I slept in this morning! Despite my cat's best efforts (knocking things off the nightstand, jumping on and off the bed endlessly, meowing loudly into my eat), I slept till almost 9 AM! (That's later than I've slept in for years.) It was very, very nice.
Can you believe it's going to be 90 degrees out today and tomorrow? In October? And how's this for ironic: We finally got them to come in at work and turn the AC down. Now we're all going to roast on Monday. Heh.
Chia (
fealu_bryne) drew a picture of Sly last night, but had to log off quickly. I wanna see how it came out! She included all his scars and his tattoos and such. Mmm, I bet it's great.
