Thank you clouds! And RP!

First off: Thank you, clouds. No, not for the rain (though that is a nice change), but for keeping it warmer! I know 50-something isn't warm, but compared to below freezing it felt like summertime when I left this morning. Very, very nice!

RP: It's so exciting-scary-exciting starting a new alt. There's so much to do, eek! Yay, there's so much to do! I was going to send Reed out into the IC world tonight, then I realized there's so much prep work needed! He has nothing to wear, eek! Yay buying whole new RP outfits! He has no title, which is a minor thing, but I need to decide what I want for him. 'of Silvermoon'? 'Crusader'? Or stick with an OOC 'Professor'? Any of the three will require more OOC work. Plus there's more traditional prep, like writing his RSP and working out his IC background and all that.

But the sticking point right now? His name. Names are so important, but I haven't found anything at all that goes well with 'Reed' (I'm going to make Reed part of his last name, like Thistle became Sunthistle). Putting many words together, I discovered that 'Reedfur' actually sounds nice, but everyone would think I was a druggie (sounds like reefer) or maybe a furry person.

I dabbled with the thought of sending Keen back IC instead. He's been out of RP so long, maybe I can justify him recovering enough to be back to normal-ish? I don't know. He's not fun to play as-is, but having him recover feels wrong, too.

Yesterday's page-a-day WoW calendar page was about the Haunted Memento being from the Scourge invasion event, which made me smile. I wish I had known more back then. I sent my only alt, wee little then-Tauren Crowfeathers (then named Thess) to the event, but he died off the bat so I left.

Last year's page-a-day WoW calendar was really awful, but this year's is a ton better in every way.

WoW dress-up (and funfact about cattails)

Sorry for two posts in one day. I went from no posts for a week to more than usual.

Reed: Go!

Firstly, Reed now has a full name, yay! After spending the whole day putting words together with 'Reed', prettyredeyes came up with the winner. :D Reedmace! Reedmace is another name for a cattail, and cattail is a kind of reed! To make this even more amusing to me, I made his first name Katale (play on cattail, though in my head I pronounce it ka-tale, not kat-ale).

Amusing fact: Cattails are also called "corndog grass", which neither Trae nor I had ever heard before, but was an OF COURSE! sort of moment. It's so obvious, once you think about it!

Surprisingly, I was able to make his whole outfit almost all from the AH. Only for his helm (which he won't always wear) did I have to hunt down a blacksmith.

Let me just say that I love it when people don't look at their greens before listing them on the AH. I got this shield for 20 gold. 20 gold!

That could easily have sold for a thousand or more! And the screenshot does it no justice at all, it's beautiful in game. It's a Cata-graphics quality item. It's one of my favorite RP items I own. :) (I just wish it wasn't wood. Why would someone dressed head to toe in plate use a wooden shield? Doesn't it seem like they'd use metal? Even so, I love it so much.)

And lastly, best of all, he got RP tonight! It went really smooth. I made a small mistake at one point (he fell into Thistle's speech pattern), but I doubt it was noticeable to the person I was RPing with. I love this point in RP, where you're learning all sorts of new things and things seem to be happening totally by themselves. Even small things, like Thistle ICly moves his ears endlessly, but Reed's didn't shift even once in the whole scene.

Oops, the one thing I didn't do was make a new Twitter account for him. Tonight or tomorrow! :D

Edit: Oops, forgot. I love this blood knight fanart picture. The hands are a little strange, but I love his face/hair and how it's cut off where it is.
