Vacation, mid-point

thistlechaserI really need to do this more often. :) Relaxing days, sleep-filled nights. It's like really being alive! And not hating life! Too bad it'll end in a couple days...
Went to the doctor yesterday for a checkup. I made so many improvements (weight, blood pressure), she said it made her day. She said she was having an awful day so far, but I made such "giant" changes that it turned it around for her. Eee! And it sounded like she was being honest too, not BSing me or something like that! Very nice. She's a good doctor. :) She suggested that I add weight lifting to my walking, because that would increase my metabolism and make future weight loss easier, so I'm going to do that once vacation ends. Yay!
I've been eating very oddly in my time off. Skipping breakfast (or having a couple nuts or something really tiny like that), then eating a big lunch... and that's it for the day. I'm not starving myself (when I say a big lunch, I mean it!), it's just sort of my "default" way of eating -- when there's no external stuff (work) to keep me on a three-meal schedule, I fall back to this sort of thing. I try to make myself eat something small in the morning and evening though, cause I don't want the old body to think we're headed into a lean time and fat must be stored for the winter.
I haven't checked my LJ flist since Friday, so I have 350 posts to read. EEK! I got through 200 of them before posting this, and hopefully will catch up with the rest once I'm done. So Many Posts!
I've discovered something I had noticed last time I had a vacation: FFXI easily expands to fill whatever free time you have. (I wouldn't be typing this now if the servers weren't down for a few hours.) There is always something you "should" be doing! Fishing, farming (killing monsters for money), skilling up weapons, leveling subjobs, crafting... it's endless!
Oh, I guess FFXI from here on down:
First, a couple screenshots! Is this "armor" not hot as hell? Tribal tattoos! It's one of the new things, but only for the highest level black mages. Unfortunately I'll never get to wear it!
The other night I killed a NM three times. Tumbling Truffle! After the third time, he finally dropped the Fungus Hat. Too bad it looks very silly on me! I think I'll continue to wear my shades instead. (I'm tempted to use that Shades picture as my new wallpaper! I love the angle. -- Woo, I did! Wow, it looks perfect!)
I've leveled WAR a couple times, but only because I'm trying to cap great sword. Partying tonight as DRK again! (Finally!) Woo! It'll be capped for that, luckily. I have no clue how I'm going to keep it capped once I'm back to work -- it took hours to get two levels in gsword!
I've leveled fishing a few times (up to 49 now). Bot that's sloooow. Repeat: I have no idea how I'll keep leveling that once I'm back to work!
I really need to look into going into the new (CoP) areas. I've only gone once (not counting a trip or two into the Empty areas). I was so antsy for the CoP release... but once I got it, I just went back to life as usual. Seems like a waste!
