Fishing and stuff (FFXI only)

thistlechaserI made a joke in my CTY journal that by the time I get my LSR I'll be so sick of fishing that I'll never want to fish again. Amusing twist on that: Once I get it, I'll be so poor that I'll have to fish for cash, no matter how little I want to. Heh.
About 2300 fish turned in.
About 500K spent.
Not good! Not good at all! It boggles me how little difference massive piles of fish make: Before work this morning I was able to buy 45 stacks at 4K each... and it only raised my total by a couple hundred. (*does the math* Okay, that's about 540 fish. 180K gil on this one shopping trip alone. *boggle*)
I keep telling myself that I have to buy less and fish more, but with a full time job? If I did nothing on the game but fish, I'd still have only maybe 5 hours total of fishing time on a weekday. (I hate how much having a RL job hurts me in the game!)
Bot fishing has never looked so tempting... (Not that I would, but man. I could get all the fish I need and spend no money! And people do it all the time! Grrrrrr.)
