I want to know what the name Thistle-Chaser means, because I am ignorant
Thistle-Chaser is a character from a series of book. Since day one, I had intended to put a section up on Catlove about her, but I've still not gotten around to it.
The main character in the series is a female lioness-like cat named Ratha. (This is all on some other planet or way earlier in time on Earth.) In time, Ratha has a litter of kittens. Thistle-Chaser was the only female of the litter.
Thistle-Chaser got her name because she never learned -- thistles are prickly and hurt, but she was always pouncing them anyway and always hurting herself.
Part of the reason I took the name was because I loved the books so much (and Thistle-Chaser has a lot more character as a name than Ratha), and part of it is because the character herself fits me. When I want to or think I have to do something, I can be stubborn as heck, even to the point of it hurting me.
When I think of Thistle-Chaser, I think of mouldy orange peels, the brave soul

Man, if only I could draw well! I've been picturing the Pirates of the Catibbean all day (housecats walking around on two legs, all dressed as pirates). And a thistle-snitch!
