Ding ding! (FFXI)

thistlechaserMost of the day was depressing and boring (9 hours seeking -- 2 invites only to have the party never happen because a &%*&@!$&@!& refresher wasn't seeking). Right before I took my flag down I got an invite that actually happened! The party was laughably bad (~100 XP per kill and it took us multiple minutes per fight, but the leader kept saying "lol isn't this going well? isn't this good lol"), the main healer was one of the worst I've ever dealt with (had full MP all the time because she never healed... yet yelled for the puller to pull. The tank would be at 50% health and she'd be yelling for him to pull and yet not healing...). But no matter how bad it was, I made the 6K I needed to level! So ding 73! Wooooo!
And I'd like to file an official request: The G key needs to be moved away from the F key. Me saying "Now if only I could get a bugger I'd be totally happy!" is light years different than me saying I'd be happy if I had a buffer.
I'm so tired of XPing on Weapons, but alas I'll probably be seeing them until I'm done leveling DRK. I hate Whirl of Rage so much (being on stun duty for hours makes my head hurt), but it's good for one thing. I never, ever thought I'd see this happen on DRK:
And once I dinged I switched to scythe for a few fights (I wanted to see how often death scythe's 'additional effect: HP drain' went off: once in four battles, and it drained a whole 7 HP. 9.9 ), but I got up to 300% and tried this:
Woo! New damage record! But it doesn't really count, since it was at 300% and all my spinning slashes are done at or close to 100%.
And the best thing of all: Since I hit 73 I can use the new GS I was holding (Balin's) and I got to sell back my other one. Holy cow, I had forgotten that I paid 4 million for that thing! And it's over that now! And mine is the only one up for sale! Four million! Gah! I'm going to have more money than I know what to do... oh... um... hm. Maybe I should look at getting the level 74 +str rings... but the're not really worth the price. Hmm.
(Edit: And right as I finished posting, my sword sold. *dies* So much money.)
And the new GS rocks, too: +str, +int, and no -5% HP! I'm doing about 200 more damage per WS. Eee! The old one was slightly prettier (it had a nice blue gem in the butt), but the new one actually matches my armor better and is nice and dark and angsty (almost black with very dark red).
I can't believe I have nothing at all left to buy for DRK now (except maybe those rings, which I shouldn't consider because they're not really worth it). It's so cool to be "finished" -- to have everything I'll ever need. :D
