Who is peer and why is he resetting my connection?

This exchange just had to be saved. (To connect to a MUSH, you need to telnet in, thus you need the server's name (or IP) and a port. This guest came in through a telnet link on our website instead of through a tool meant to MUSH through.)

[Guest] Guest1 says, "I'm seeing an error that says I'm unable to connect and that the connection was reset by peer."
[Guest] Thistle-Chaser says, "What's the domain name or IP and port you're trying?"
[Guest] Guest1 says, "I have no clue."
[Guest] Thistle-Chaser says, "That might be the problem then. You need to try to connect to the right domain and port..."
[Guest] Guest1 says, "Ok then, in the error message it said the connection was canceled by peer. Who would peer be?"

You know, peer. Peer. That guy. Riiiight.
