And now
-------------
Salads for lunch are getting boring. I need to buy some un-moldy bread so I can make some PB&Js sometimes. And I think In&Out sells grilled cheese, that might make a nice change.
I wasn't good about trying veggies this weekend. My fried rice had all sorts of stuff in it (pea pods, water chestnuts (name?), broccoli, and other things), but I was grumpy and didn't try anything, just picked it out.
Other than salad/lunch, I find myself filling the meat-hole (...wow, that sounds wrong...) with cheese and pasta. That's not my intent, I need to work on that still. Salad also makes a rather sucky lunch. A half-hour later and I'm hungry again. Maybe I should bring the rest of it back to work with me (I never eat even half of it) and finish it later... Luckily I have lots of fruit.

Date: 2003-08-19 03:03 pm (UTC)I guess if you're trying to go vegetarian, you can try some low-fat cheese, or a hard boiled egg or two? Pasta and cheese gets me every time, man.
And, wait, why did you pick the veggies out? Snow peas are THE BEST. And I've wished I could try an In & Out Burger for ages. And... I'm about to fall asleep at the computer so I need to think of food in order to stay awake. I'm really sorry if I'm making no sense.

Mostly because I've not eaten them for most of my life, so I'm a little skittish about them now. :}

Anyway, can you tell me what a MUSH is? I see you mentioning that word a lot and I ran across a situation where I suddenly need to pretend that I understand what it means. I figured it would be easier to do that if I actually *did* know. Hehe.

Date: 2003-08-19 03:27 pm (UTC)They evolved from MUDs, but are totally different than them. MUDs are about hacking and slashing (not the good kind of slashing), MUSHes are about quality RP (good writing, grammar, etc).
You telnet into it (or use a client to connect), and each person has a login/name.

Date: 2003-08-19 03:51 pm (UTC)Fie! Actually, fried rice, stir fries, and things of the sort are one of the better ways to get into vegetables. The vegetables used (broccoli, snowpeas, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, et cetera) are relatively inoffensive, and the speed inherent in this type of Chinese cookery generally doesn't overcook them (a common cause of people not liking vegetables), leaving them tender, yet with a nice firm bite. Plus, they're mixed with flavorful ingredients, which lessens the impact on the veggie-wary.
