thistlechaser | Quick Avatar rec! (and FFXI)

rufftoon used to do storyboards for Avatar (officially, not a fan-done thing, a paid job), so it should be no surprise that he has that drawing style down perfectly. For example...

However, for the last year or so, he's done an AU comic/story! And it's sooooo good! The art is just so amazing. It just boggles me how real good artists can make sketches, how much emotion they can show with a few lines, how they can make people who look just like people! :P

Random sample page from the comic. It's about 400 pages long now, and I'm only 100 or so pages in, but man is it good. The story is great, but the art is even better. Of course the style is dead-on correct for Avatar, but it's more than that. It's amazing. :)

If you want to follow the comic, starting at the beginning would be best (duh~), so use LJ's calendar function to go back to 2007 and start from there.

FFXI: Had my flag up for two hours on DNC, got no invites. Didn't want to party anyway (was reading), so it was no biggie. Eventually I went and soloed for a couple hours and hit 30 (reading as I soloed, heh!). Just a few more levels to go! I need higher level mobs though. :/ Have to research where to go next.
