Coding magic and the end of the world

thistlechaserI had a nightmare last night about the world ending. That wasn't the nightmare-ish part though. Us few people who survived got together in... San Francisco or Seattle or some city by the ocean (in my dream Seattle was right on a harbor, donno if it's really that close). We needed somewhere to live, so we went into an apartment building to pick apartments. We all got on an elevator, then most of us got off on the second floor. Some man was slower than everyone else because he had to pick up "his" baby off the floor (he wasn't the real father, but the parents had died with the rest of the humans so he was taking care of it). Before he could get off the elevator, it fell and he died. Somehow that became the nightmare part, that we couldn't go up and down stairs or elevators without chancing death.
So, despite there being only 20-30 people left in the world, my new husband and I had to show one of the apartments, to try to sell it. But how could I get up to it (it was on the second floor) without using stairs or elevator?
Easy! I'd use magic! And the magic I used?

I'm not sure what the (something)s had been, but if you didn't get the joke, that's MUSH softcode. So I used MUSH code in "RL" in my dream. While the nightmare wasn't fun (and after I woke myself up and went back to sleep it continued!), the idea of using MUSH code to get around RL problems was amusing.
