TV, noodles, work.
Sep. 30th, 2003 10:31 pmI started and deleted this post a number of times through the evening, and it wasn't just because my cat is all but laying on (around) my keyboard (she's not dead, she's just bent oddly. Honest!). Really, how am I supposed to type? She'll push my keyboard right off, if I let her. Silly girl.
I can't believe the fall TV season has started, and yet there's nothing at all on to watch. Yesterday the only thing I even vaguely wanted to watch was Fear Factor, and that's not even a new show. Tonight there wasn't a single thing on I wanted to see, so I tried out one of the new shows. Whoopi. Oh my god. It was so so so bad. Painfully unfunny. After it I just turned off the TV and puttered about online.
So I made those stir-fry noodles tonight. They were okay, sort of like Ramen noodles, just a little less salty. (And so they were totally not worth the kitchen mess -- frying pan, bowl to microwave them in first, wooden spoons so as not to scratch the non-stick pan...). Funny, but I was dying for cheese again tonight. (I resisted since I gave in and skipped the noodles last night.)
I'm finding that lately I'm just a lot hungrier in general, and when I'm not hungry I'm craving something I can't put my finger on. That sort of sucks, because I think I'm eating more in general now (even if often it's at least semi-good food, like yogurt and fruit).
Work will suck tomorrow, though in a way it often sucks, not some new and evil way of sucking. More rounds of QA work. Someone explain again how we can be a software company without a QA department? Anyway, it results in lots of extra work, which is depressing.
Oh well, bedtime.

Date: 2003-10-01 06:03 am (UTC)Ain't no doctor, but I'd guess you're still not getting enough protein, because what you describe is how I feel when I go through the day on mostly carbs- like I can eat and eat, and it still isn't enough somehow. If you find yourself in a brave mood, give those Boca Burgers a try; they're full o' protein and they keep one full for quite a long time. (No dirty dishes, either!)
Hee- and I think the Mercury used your exact words to describe that Whoopi show. "Painfully unfunny" indeed- too bad so many new sitcoms these past few years could be described the same way.

Date: 2003-10-01 07:04 am (UTC)I don't have any Boca Burgers at the moment, but I do have those not-chicken nuggets (I forget the name) in the freezer. Maybe I'll try those tonight. I believe they're made from soy, so they should be high in protein.

Thankfully there are cable channels! No need to depend on the networks so much anymore.

I don't have those at the moment, but I still have those not-chicken nuggets to try. Maybe I'll have those for dinner...
