thistlechaserThis morning it was real blood all over the place, but tonight it's actually worse. An Iranian man found guilty of using acid to blind a woman who refused to marry him now will have the same done to him as punishment — and she'll be the one who carries out the sentence. The man is going to be taken to a hospital, "medicated", and then she'll put 20 drops of acid into each of his eyes.
Gods above, I can't even start to wrap my head around that. If it had been me he blinded, I still in no way, shape, or form would want this either done or gods forbid, me have to do it myself. At least the guy will be "medicated" (which I seriously hope means knocked out).
Yes, he did a horrible thing. He was 100% in the wrong. He should be punished. But two wrongs don't make a right, no matter what religions say about an eye for an eye.
The other annoying news thing is this brouhaha about Bin Laden having porn. OH NOS. A MAN HAD PORN. A RELIGIOUS MAN HAD SEXUAL THOUGHTS. THIS SHOCKS AND OFFENDS ME. NO FINE, UPSTANDING PERSON EVER LOOKS AT PORN. ...wait, not that I'm implying Bin Laden was a fine, upstanding man! But seriously, he was a person. He looked at porn. Why in the world has that been on the news all day?
