Want to know how much your cat loves you? Get an automatic feeder (and movie: Arrival)

I used to think my cat sat in the bathroom with me while I got ready in the morning because she loved me. Nope! She was just using me for food.

I bought an automatic feeder to try to make her stop meowing for her food an hour ahead of time, and while it's working wonderfully for that, I think she loves it more than she loves me. If I weren't a warm thing to sleep on, I think she'd have no use left for me! Heh.

At least she hasn't started meowing at it yet. She does spend an hour sitting right next to it though, waiting for it to give her her food.

I don't watch movies all that often, but Arrival was both sci fi-y and starred Jeremy Renner, so I checked it out. Wow! I loved it so much!

Not to spoil anything, but it makes me sad that apparently the storyline confused people and was hard for some people to follow. One review of the movie called it "mentally taxing". Maybe people just need to read more sci fi, I guess.

Usually movies don't hold my interest at all, but I didn't even want to multitask during this one. Loved it to bits!

LOL I am toying with the idea of getting the feeder for my cats, Apollo has become particularly vocal recently because I was told by the vet to give him less food so he doesn't get to "graze" as much as he used to. I've got the one you linked me to on my Amazon wishlist for later.

I am on the waitlist for 'Arrival' at the library and I CANNOT WAIT to see it. My friend saw it in the theater and has been raving about it, so if he buys it, I'm going to ask to borrow his blu-ray LOL.

"mentally taxing" makes me worry...not for the movie, but for the fact that a reviewer wasn't up to the task of THINKING about a movie. I mean, COME ON, that is your job.

The feeder seems like it would be perfect to take care of that. It feeds up to five times a day, so you could break up his food into fifths, so he can eat more often.

My bf asked me at the beginning of the movie 'why is she so sad?' and I said 'she's dead inside because [very sad thing]' and he said, 'Oh. that makes sense.'

However, later. that turned out to be all wrong and I still don't know why she was so sad/down in the beginning. :P

I didn't find the movie hard to follow though there were a few 'Wait, what? Ohhhh'-moments.

Her daughter was dying of some rare, unnamed-in-the-movie disease, so that's why she was so sad. :)


I suspect the "Wait, what? Oooh!" moments were on purpose.

Noo... that's the point. :P. That's what I thought too and what I answered my bf but later the movie flips that around and that stuff happens later, after the plot.
