Final Fantasy X - 2 is a direct sequel to the original Playstation 2 RPG, taking place two years after Tidus and his companions defeat Sin. While there were two versions previously announced, a Yuna version and a Rikku version, FFX-2, in fact, focuses entirely on the summoner.

Battles remain the same, though a new "Active Mode" has been added. (What this entails, however, is unknown.)

Machines have become commonplace throughout Spira.
The Yevon temples are transformed into vehicles which you can use to travel.
A newer screenshot reveals that there is a 'hover' command on the field.
You can also dash, jump and climb around things in the field map. There is a bizzare new location that was not previously found within Spira.

More details will undoubtedly be unveiled next week, through publications and Square's shareholders' meeting on the 22nd."

*Dies giggling* Okay, I DON'T go for the idea of Yuna in those freakin' hotpants with guns, but I just love how Yuna's outfit is like a girly version of Jecht's.

It's not just her outfit that's like Jecht's, look at her chest. It looks like ... part of her dress, I guess? They faked Jecht's tattoo, too. This is gonna be something. :)

I ran the info from the German site through an online translator and got this:

17.10.02 - As yesterday announced, Square is to present a new game of roles in the next week. Possibly it concerns a new edition of finally Fantasy X, which is to be called Fantasy X-2 final. The following details are unconfirmed: Finally Fantasy X-2 acts two years after finally Fantasy Xth Yuna is this time the heroine. In the world there are now very many machines. Among them also transport vehicles, which one can rent for something money. It gives more Actionelemente and Yuna can jump and climb. To the well-known places of finally Fantasy X many new placeplace places are added like an enormous castle. The combat system was extended by a Active instruction, which is faded in in the right upper corner of the screen. The publication is to take place in March next yearly in Japan. These information was so far not confirmed by Square.

That's what I said. @_@ Okay, I can see Lulu with guns, 'cause she's used to hurting things, but Yuna? Sweet, innocent little Yuna? With giant guns? And even if personality wasn't an issue, can you imagine the kickback on those things? c.c Yuna's a wimp, no way could she use those.

.... I like her shirt tho. ^_^

I know!! I can't even picture Yuna with a gun even when there IS a picture of Yuna with a gun! o_o And I haven't even finished the game entirely yet! (even though I know how it ends and stuff. x.x)
It's like.. giving Mother Theresa a bazooka or something. You can't do it! She's also just going to fly back and smash into things.. Hey maybe that's how it's supposed to work. YOu know, she'll fire it in the opposite direction, and fly back at the opponent! *giggles at how silly that would look* x.X!

Though yeah I have to agree. That skirt is neato.

Though come to think of it (forgot to add this), maybe it's not -really- Yuna, and they just want us to think so.
I mean, it could be pulled off as a Yuna clone, or like, an offspring, or a sister, or something like that. Or like, an alternate dimension Yuna or something. She's also got a mother-lovin braid (I think.. it looks like a braid) that goes down to her legs.. that'd take a long time to grow. o_o At least three years.
Yes, I absolutely refuse to believe that that's Yuna.

I noticed another interesting thing on that German webpage: Xenosaga on Gamecube. Veeeeerrryyyy interesting. Well, they'd better as hell still have it on PS2. Big Xeno-fan right here (hence the Krelian icon).
