The Sickness (Animorphs #29) by "K. A. Applegate" (Melinda Metz)
Traditional or self-published: Traditional
Rating: Liked (Hated-Disliked-Okay-Liked-Loved)

I think I'm starting to get burnt out on this series. Even though this was another good book, and even though it takes only an hour or so to read them, I'm getting tired of them.

I like how the ghostwriters are able to turn what might be an illogical idea into something that makes sense. In this book, Cassie (whose entire medical experience is helps her parents do vet work) was going to have to do brain surgery on one of the Animorphs. Luckily the ghostwriter pulled out a save and was able to make it make sense.

The whole story was quite different than previous ones. The morph was very interesting. The idea of one of the Animorphs being totally on her own, doing the whole mission on her own, was a new one.

I really liked it all, but maybe I just need a break from the series for a while.

Sounds interesting to me. Of course I'm still far behind you- I have to take longer breaks between reading the animorphs- or I think I'd feel burned out, too. I'm just about to start the Time of Dinosaurs one!

You'll catch up! I only got half a book read today, so I seem to be slowing down.

Taking breaks is a good idea, especially when the book quality tends to be on the low side...

I'm blasting through them now. I really liked this one. You're right, it had quite a different kind of story when Cassie had to pull off a mission solo. And all sorts of questioning about what they're really doing, why should Yeerks never get sight/smell/hearing etc, the development of the peace movement was all pretty interesting. Cassie saving Ax by cutting open his head was really crazy though.

It's odd, but I think the Yeerks are one of my favorite part of the series. Not Three, since he's like comic book bad guy black/white, mustache-twirling, but the species in general.

Glad you're catching up! Work got busy, so even though I have one review written and ready to post, I haven't read any in a week or so.
