So... did LJ change while I wasn't looking?

I can't go back more than 100 posts in my friends list. On the second page (of 50 posts), there's only a 'next 50' which moves me to the more current posts, or a 'back to the top' post. If I edit the URL myself to make it skip back more, I end up with a blank page.

I haven't seen an LJ news post in ages, so maybe I unfriended them by mistake somehow.

Is this a new thing? I was trying to find an older post...

I tried with yours and was able to go back more than a year. I didn’t count how many that was, but I think it was more than 100...
But, I have found a few things were I couldn’t go back and thought it was strange. So, maybe there is a limit now? Don’t know.

Strange. I can't go back further than Aug. 11th, 2019 / 100 posts. Wonder if it has something to do with the layout style or something. LJ is odd about that sometimes.

That's really frustrating. I don't use LJ, and the only blog I visit on LJ is yours, so I have no idea. Similar kind of thing now happens on my blogspot site, though- if your type in a title or phrase in the search, it only goes back so far, won't pull up posts that are more than several years old. Even if I'm behind the scenes in my lists of postings, I can't pull up an older post in search there, have to scroll back through the listings to find something I want to edit (I often add links or correct old ones that go to now-defunct sites). It's annoying because nobody will find certain reviews I've written unless they look through the manual index I've created, or use the drop-down date list in the sidebar. I don't know how many readers utilize those things.

Is there an LJ forum or help feature you could use to figure it out?

Completely frustrating. I don't use LJ much anymore other than for book reviews, but still.

The blogspot thing sounds just as bad...

Maybe we need to make our own blog site, haha (or just move to Goodreads?).

Mmm, I think there was always a cut-off for how far you could go back on flist -- not in terms of skip?= number but in terms of how far back in time you could scroll back -- I forget if it was 2 weeks or a month or what.

I just tried it out with my friendspage, and I could go further back than skip?=100, but not sure how far back in time, because it was taking a while.

Or maybe I'm thinking of DW...

Two weeks might fit, the oldest thing I could see was Aug. 11th, 2019. I guess I never had to scroll back further than that? Strange...
