Windows closed, blinds drawn

It's going to go up to 95 degrees today (how insane is that?), so I closed all the windows to keep the cool nighttime air in, and shut the blinds to keep the sun out. I'm sitting in the dark. As soon as the last cartoons are over, I'll be turning off the TV and watching movies and such on my computer.

Is this nearly November or mid-August?

Wow, that is so utterly wrong. 95* is a temperature that you should bake stuff, not live in.

Isn't it supposed to be cooler there on average than the same long... er, latitude? It's been in the seventies lately in Houston, we are finally getting a hint of our version of the fall.

My mother is in Maine this weekend. She just bought a tiny little cottage to retire into some day (needs tons of work before then), and she was telling me there was frost on the cars last night or the night before! Made me want to run and hide under my covers.
