Those are three posts out of the last six made to animal_crossing. I feel like hunting these people down and beating them with their keyboards until either they cannot type ever again or they learn (ha ha, as if). If I were a parent, I would teach my child to type correctly. Unfortunately, I bet the parents type that badly as well, if they type at all.

There really need to be tests set up to get onto the Internet. Can't type? Go away. No clue about grammar? Shoo. Think "NE1" is an acceptable alternate for "anyone"? Please die.

It's really a shame that crappy people can ruin what could be a good group, but such is life here; unless a group makes a strong and continued effort to keep the standards up, they fall to the lowest common denominator:

It drives me crazy too. Selling stuff on eBay, I've received emails from people who are presumably adults with even worse typing and grammar than these posts you're talking about. One of them was so bad, that while I had an idea of what it was asking, I just sent something backing saying that I didn't understand what he was saying.

Even more annoying, the email he sent back to me was perfectly articulate, but with a very annoyed tone to it, acting as if /I/ was the idiot. Which is more idiotic, pretending not to understand an incomprehensible email, or writing an incomprehensible email when you're perfectly capable of writing one that's not?

I actually went over there myself. I tend to be pretty okay with tolerating bad grammar outside of the MUSH environment, but I think that was a little too much for me. Lots of posts by annoying and hyper girls who fail to utilize the lj-cut command properly as they write down an entire list of every villager in their town and describe what they think of them, all the while speaking with faces and all caps and... and...

Man!

I think the whole "if you write an in-game letter with bad grammar, your animals won't understand it" thing should teach them a thing or two. ;)

I have thought about leaving the community...I haven't played AC since I got just past the one-year mark. I'm afraid to go back and see what might've happened.

That's another part, yeah. I've not played in about a month. I wouldn't mind going back and playing now and then, but I have a hard time doing that -- I feel like I have to play every day and that makes it work instead of fun...
