End of part one of vacation (and FFX-2)

Dropped my mother off at the airport about a half-hour ago. Was very sad to see her go, but was also sort of looking forward to time to myself again.

We stumbled across a small Egyptian museum and so we took that in (the grounds were especially nice, they had all sorts of foreign grasses and plants and such). It was packed with kids, but still enjoyable to see.

My apartment is oddly quiet. She was only here for a week, but it seems like longer. I feel silly, but: I miss my mommy. :}

As intended, I started FFX-2 tonight. It's... not FFX-2. It's more like Yuna and two other girls (one not even from FFX) playing Charlie's Angels meets Britney Spears. It was sadly a very, very painful experience.

Lots of stuff was different. Unless I'm mistaken (I've not played FFX in a long time), Yuna has a different voice actress (and since she's the main character, this is a giant issue). And since when did the Al Bhed become Russian and seriously gay? I really, really (really) dislike the battle system.

I need a darned guide book for it. (Or need to look for an online FAQ, I suppose. I like guidebooks though.) I can't even figure how to toggle off the subtitles. Hate the dress grid system. Hate it. Why couldn't they stick with the battle system and grid system from FFX?

And I really, really hate Paine, too. The name makes me cringe. A warrior woman dressed in black leather named Paine. Gah.

I turned it off tonight because I'm too tired to deal with trying to learn new stuff for it. I'm really sad though, I hope it gets more like FFX as the game progresses.

Aww. Hugs to you- I hate that post-visit letdown. I hope she has a safe and comfortable flight back home.

Was it the Rosicrucian Egyptian museum you went to today? (Silly me, always trying to pinpoint your destinations. Usually I'm wrong.) And if so, did you see the mummy with his tongue sticking out?

And who's the toothsome lad in your icon? I don't generally find pictures of blonde, light-eyed boys very compelling, but this one certainly is.

That was it, yep! Funny to fund a museum in the middle of a residential area.

Nope, I didn't see that mummy, but I didn't look too closely at them. It made me a little twitchy to think that there were real dead people (and cats! Ack!) all wrapped up and on display.

Hee! Tidus, from FFX. He's rather cute, and I liked his character (lots of people didn't, since he started out as a somewhat whining teenager). Glad you like it!

You sure it's Tidbit? It kinna looks like this one shot of Shuin. But then again, I guess it doesn't much matter. I lived Tidbit too! ^_^/ Actually, I liked most of the characters in FFX, which is certainly a new one on me.

As for your bits about X-2... Yuna has the same voice actor, as does Rikku. They just... are trying to make them sound more mature or something. >.< I dunno. I'm spending what time I would have dropped on X-2 on XI instead. At least XI doesn't threaten to break my brain with horrible music and bouncysilly 'plot' points. If I dare call them that. v.v I guess FFX-2 wasn't meant to be a serious sequel or something. They still raped poor Yuna's character.

Yep! In fact, I got the source art from some site with FFX art that you posted the URL for earlier this week or last. Eh, screen shots I guess, not art.

I'm spending what time I would have dropped on X-2 on XI instead.

Sounds like a wise decision. I had planned to play X-2 all weekend, but just downloaded Sims to replace it with.
