Wheee! Thanks to the folks who suggested Trigun. Love it! What's with stupid anime men being so cute? Vash is just such a doofus, but that just makes him even cuter!

Love (love love love) the art style, music is good, and in the two eps I saw, the storyline is seriously amusing. And why is it that in anime guns are darned sexy? I do not drool over them in RL, but this is the second series where I mmmm'ed out loud upon seeing one.

I've seen tons of Vash art on oekaki boards, and none of it gave me an accurate sense of the series. I was expecting something really serious and probably gothic-ish, but it was so not that! (Which is a fine thing!)

Now I just need an icon or two from it. Heeheehee. Oh, and to download more, I guess. I have six eps and have seen two. Wonder how many there are in the series? And I wonder how I'll ever finish watching everything I like? I have ten more Dear Boys to see, four more Hellsing, and two more Get Backers (when they get finished subtitling them). Oh, and Escaflowne and 12 Kingdoms. Oh, and to check out Wolf's Rain again, maybe. And I've not touched DNAngels yet... and I need to give Hikaru no Go a chance still... and probably delete E's Otherwise (people said it goes downhill fast after season one, and I didn't really like it that much anyway). So much to see, so little time! Darned needing to sleep!

Heehee. :)

Hello. I just realized that you posted the very first post on [livejournal.com profile] hp100. Be proud.

That's not why I came here, though. I was looking through your site, and say the Princess Maker endings -- where did you get an English version of that!? I've been dying to play that game properly. Thanks for any help.

Never mind. I found it. I had a ROM that was in Japanese, but I found it as a stand-alone game. Although, if you happen to know how to get the sound to work...

Did I? Huh. I knew I wrote for the first challenge (First Times), but I didn't think I had had the first post. Cool!

Sorry, I can't help with the sound. The copy of it I had was working right from the start. Too bad I deleted it (and, eh, I'm on a different computer now), I'd like to play it again sometime.

In case you're really desperate to see the last two episodes of Get Backers, a group called Saikou-Fansubs have subtitled up to the end of the series, and the episodes can be found here - http://www.saikou-fansubs.com/released.php?cat=GetBackers .

Hi there!

Yep, I know there are copies of the last eps out there (by a couple different groups!), but I'm waiting for Anime-Empire to finish them. They're do the best subbing IMO, and since I like Get Backers so much, I want to see the best version of it.

Thanks though!

Heehee. Do you remember ages ago I had a Vash icon? He had a donut stuffed in his mouth and I had 'Mmmm.' at the bottom? Vash has been one of my favorite anime guys since I first saw Trigun nearly a year back. I love dumb and goofy guys the best.

Trigun is a series that has a very sudden change of mood as it moves along-- it always has its funny moments, but it becomes more serious as it progresses.

Oh, now that you mention it, I do recall that icon.

Oh, that'll be interesting to see!

If you have BitTorrent, SaiKou fansubs (http://a.scarywater.net/sf/) has the whole 49 episodes subtitled already.

I've been lurking for a while. I find your posts on anime and japanese food and everything quite interesting. I just had to jump in and say that Trigun is one of my all time favorite animes (it's tied with Ayashi No Ceres). I hope that you enjoy the rest of it.

Hi!

Well, I'm happy you decided to de-lurk to comment! :) What's Ayashi No Ceres about? I'm always shopping for more new things to watch!

Ayashi No Ceres is based on a manga by Yu Watase (she also wrote Fushigi Yugi). It's angsty and dark, but has its humorous moments. There are also a healthy dose of gorgeously drawn men, if you like. I was never a huge fan of the majority of manga artwork for Trigun, but Yu Waatse's is an artist that I particularly like.

Right, back to Ceres. It's based of an old Japanese tale about an angel that came down from heaven and left her feathered robe (that allows her to travel from heaven to earth and back) in a tree. A man stole it and forced her to marry him. It takes place in modern day Japan, and I don't want to tell anymore and spoil it if you do choose to watch it. One last thing about it is that the subtitles are 100% better than the dub.

Yes, please!

And that sounds really interesting, I'll look for it!

Thanks!

I knew you'd... well, no, I guess I didn't actually "know" you'd like it, but I thought there was a chance you might, and I'm glad you do! The story gets very interesting later on, and as Punch mentioned on the channel the other night, you'll seriously like... shoot, I don't know his name... but you'll know who I'm talking about when it comes up. He's handsome, he's witty, he's got that "playfully serious" look about him, *and* his cross is a gun!

How's FLCL going, by the way? Have you decided to keep at it?

Ah, the cross-gun guy. Ruth Loss, I think? Ruth Loose? Something like that.

I haven't watched anymore of it yet, but I haven't deleted it! I will see more when I have time.

Hm. If you've only seen the first two episodes (let me think... I don't remember the first, but the second is the one with the girl staying at that guy's manor, and he's actually a Badbad and the girl is actually a GoodGood sherriff chick?), then I don't think you've seen Mr. Cross, who I think has a longer and more cool name. I wanna say Maxwell? Maybe I'll ask Punch tonight, if she's on.

Anyway, off to my Chemistry test! See you in three hours!

(Oh, by the way, my teacher came in today, big tummy and all. And she was pissed at us for leaving, but gave no reason why. ;) At least our test was postponed. Yay!)

Punch just came online, and she says he's Wolfwood, so that's who it must be!

You're speaking of Loose Ruth, but that's not to whom he is referring. No, he is speaking of none other than Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who doesn't show up until later. The episode Murder Machine, if I recall correctly. And yeah, he's my favorite character in the series, as well.

Ah, okay. We got the name as Ruth Loose, because of that whole backwards-Japanese name thing, but of course I forgot that, so I wondered why he was named Ruth.

Woo, can't wait to see Wolfwood! Everyone's talking about him.

Wolfwood is a fantastic character. Hurry up and watch more episodes! (Need to re-watch it myself, am beginning to forget about everyone else. The Gung-Ho Guns provide a lot of entertainment in their own right... must resist... re-watching them all... now. X_X)

Yes! Feel the Trigun love. Am up to episode 8 and will hopefully download 9 in this lifetime (*bitch slaps computer*). I love it muchly, for all the reasons you said, and because Vash is indeed a little hottie, especially in those rare moments he gets all serious and does the fancy shoot-em-up routine. Sigh.
