Has anyone watched Saiyuki Reload? I have only a couple eps downloaded (3), and I've not watched them all yet, but I'm not sure about hunting down further eps. I like the music a lot, and the voices and art are fine, but I'm not really confident in the story. Has anyone enjoyed it? Or dropped it without finishing the series?

Thanks!

Maybe you should watch the first series (Saiyuki) first? (unless you already have...)

Actually *blush* I hadn't known that there was a series before this! So yeah, I think I'll track that down first.

Thanks!

If you can find it online, it's commercially available here~

I'm watching it, but I'm not impressed so far. I enjoyed Saiyuki, but it seems like Reload hasn't gotten into the swing of things yet (at least that's what I hope). I've seen 5 episodes and I barely remember them because the subs come out so damn slow. I'm giving it a chance because I did like Saiyuki.

Also, yay on finishing Whistle! I think I liked the ending more than you did, which is possibly due to the bias of Shige being my favorite character. ^^ Also, the ending is not the real ending for the story, as I believe it continued on in the manga.

Ah, I've not seen Saiyuki itself, so I hadn't realized that Reloaded wasn't the only series.

Also, the ending is not the real ending for the story, as I believe it continued on in the manga.

Oh, that's interesting to know! Well, now I know what I'll be doing with my downtime at work today: Trying to track down info on that online!

Thanks!

From what I can find out online, the anime runs up to manga #18, but the manga goes up to at least #23. I'm looking for scans of those later issues/volumes. I've found scans of the earliest ones, but none of the later ones yet...

You've had better luck than me then. The only scanlation sites I've found don't even have it up for download anymore. ~sigh~

Scroll down, the Whistle ones are near the bottom. They only have two volumes though, so it's only really early on in the story.

The later ones don't seem to be around online, that or they're really hard to find. Eventually I got distracted by a site which sells pencil boards (they had Whistle! ones!), and never got back to the original search.

Thanks for the link. ^_^ For the rest, I think I'll have to wait and see if maybe other scanslators pick it up, or until I have enough money to spend on purchasing manga again.

I haven't seen past episode 2 myself, although I have it uploaded up to the latest episode. I'm a Saiyuki fan, and I follow the manga, so the RELOAD anime has just been one big WTF? episode after another. I was really looking forward to seeing the Kami-sama arc in the manga animated, but from what little I've seen of the latter eps, it doesn't look like they're getting anywhere to that.

If you're not familiar with Saiyuki at all, I'd suggest watching the first series, as well as reading the manga.

God, yes! I can't figure out what they're trying to do with Reload anime, but it's putting me to sleep. I'm so disappointed. I've stuck through to episode 5, and it doesn't get any better.

Oops. I hadn't known that there was a series before this one, so that's what I'll do. Thanks!
