thistlechaser: (Startled brown catgirl)

After a morning of sleeping in and waffles, I settled in for a movie. Kiki's Delivery Service. Great movie, the only downside was that the subtitles weren't working so I had to listen to it in English. Phil Hartman as the cat was *horrid*. The other English voices were mostly okay, but I wanted to strangle him. Luckily I found that one of my other media players would show the subtitles, so I watched the second half in Japanese. Much, much, much better. The cat sounded *cute*, not sarcastic as hell. How annoying that they'd change something so important as that! The character was supposed to sound like a cute little baby, but in English the voice would have been just the right tone for "Oh, gag me with a spoon! With a spoon, baby!". Grumble. But other than that it was a sweet movie, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Since I'm not in the middle of watching anything else, I finally started Hikaru no Go. Though I'm only two eps in, I can say I like it a lot. The spirit (Sai) is... um... perhaps the most feminine man I have ever, ever seen, but often he's cute and amusing. (But come on, pink-purple lipstick? And hiding behind his little fan? If I were a man, I'd clutch my penis while watching this, just to make sure it didn't jump off and run screaming away.) I only have five eps downloaded, so I'm grabbing more now (very slow going, with my seeding work on Whistle! and Someday's Dreamers still going on).

Lastly: Wasn't the raw for TeniPuri supposed to be out on Wednesday? Or does it play in Japan on Wednesday and we get the raw Thursday? I've been sitting on anime.mirc.com, waiting for it to show up...

While rereading this before posting, I paused on the Go paragraph. For just a moment, I pondered Sai in some sort of m/m pairing. Almost never before have I been turned off by such thoughts, but gah! So wrong, so wrong! It's sort of like trying to get slash going on between a man and a woman! Not gonna happen.

Eek! What's his URL? And think he'll be back next week?

I read the site news again -- theoretically he should be back by now, but the BT tracker on his site seems to be down at the mo.

TeniPuri is on hiatus this week for the New Years, so the next new episode will be airing next Wednesday.

Yay! You're watching Hikaru no Go! That's probably one of my top favorite anime series, ever. ^_^

Not sure how your Someday's Dreamer torrent status is right now, but I just tried the link for it again to help seed, and it still won't work for me. Did you do anything different to that one than your Whistle! torrent?

First off: Eeee! Mustang-icon! And what a cute one!

Ack! Okay. Drat, but at least I can stop waiting for it now.

Yay! You're watching Hikaru no Go! That's probably one of my top favorite anime series, ever.

Yep, I'm liking it a lot. And Go looks like a pretty interesting game, too. I bet there's somewhere online that you can play it... I'm going to look for a site when I have time.

Thanks for trying to help on Someday's Dreamer. Nope, I did everything the same, but don't worry about it. There's only one person left who hasn't gotten it all, and they're only pulling at 2 Kb/sec. I'll leave it open for them. Thanks though!

Playing Go online

I think Yahoo Games offers the option of playing Go, but the two places I know that are reasonably serious about it are the Internet Go Server (http://www.pandanet.co.jp/English/) and the Kiseido Go Server (http://kgs.kiseido.com/). The Kiseido website's also got a program you can download called Igowin that you can play Go against. I still have a copy around here somewhere, though I'm humiliatingly awful at it. :)
