More Naruto (heeheehee)
Jan. 11th, 2004 01:11 pmAgain, anyone arguing for het in Naruto is so totally smoking crack. I'm on ep #28, in the middle of the second test (in the Forest of Death). Naruto is inside the snake and thinks he's about to die. He remembers the faces of all those important to him, ending with Sasuke (which he lingers on the longest). Then with the thought of "a lot has happened between me and him", his first image is their kiss! Heeheehee. Does he think of annoying little "Sakura-chan"? Nope, it's Sasuke! *snicker* Poor delusion het-lovers. :)
I wish the subbers had used a different font for the subtitles. This "
" is the number one, it is not an "I". Since I read the subtitles quickly so I can then look at the scene before it changes, using a one when you mean an "I" is really annoying.
Oh, and one last thing: I hope to never, ever, ever, ever see Rock Lee again, in this series or any other one. Gah! He makes my skin crawl. I could almost feel bad for Sakura, if she didn't deserve his attention for lusting over Sasuke. *Twitch*
Oh, and one more last thing: Though I expected it to happen, it's too bad they changed the opening and closing themes. The opening theme went from bad to worse, and the closing theme went from wonderful to blech. The only up-side of this is that it'll likely change at least once more before I catch up with the current eps. Maybe they'll improve.
Oh! And another last-last thing! I loved that torturer character, the one who ran the first exam of the tests. Mmmm, nothing like torturing your students a little! What a lovely little mindfuck he pulled on them. I hope we see more of him in the future.
Oh! (-R-E-O), I got my TeniPuri pencilboard today. Yay! It's hanging up on the wall right next to the monitor, so I see it all the time. Hm, that other fellow who I tried to order from last week still hasn't emailed me. I suppose I should contact him...

The subbers are calling him "Guy". Gai makes *so* much more sense...

Kabuto is a really cool character, too.

Yes, yes! I love Kabuto, too. Mmm.

I am only like the biggest Kakashi fanthing evar. *.* (Glad you're enjoying Naruto!)

Ah, you must still be ahead of me. I just finished 39 and paused for Simpsons/email check. Which ep are you on? I wish I could make the new-to-me eps last, but I can't stop watching!
It's so nice having a series you love and more new eps than you could ever watch in a sitting. :) It's going to be hard to go back to work tomorrow, but at least I'll have more eps to look forward to tomorrow night!

Date: 2004-01-12 07:02 am (UTC)I'm up to episode 62, so just 3 more to go. Then I'm sure I'm going to be tearing my hair out waiting to watch the episodes on a weekly (or more) basis because this series (unlike the other ones I'm watching) has vicious cliffhangers regularly. So yeah, I know how you feel. I can't stop watching this, but I wish there were unlimited amount of episodes available to me all at once. ^^
I'm practically exploding with love for the series though, and I just want more more more! ^_^ Other characters I like a lot are Haku (another one to add to my 'fav characters who died' list) and Kakashi. That entire arc and backstory on Haku just killed me, and in the end when Zabuza asked to die next to him... ~sniffle~ And of course I love Naruto. His character growth and his power potential is fascinating to me. I actually didn't find Sasuke that interesting until he got bitten by Orochimaru, and I'm sure there are some very interesting changes about to happen to him and his character, so he's become more appealing to me lately. Oh, and I find Kabuto to be an interesting character too. He's obviously hiding a lot of things, and I can't wait to find out.

Sure does! All day yesterday I would say "Just one more ep, then I need to get some non-computer stuff done", but at the end of every ep I went 'Arrrg! Just one more!' and, well, got nothing else done yesterday. :P However, even though I did fail to get away from the computer, how could you have a better Sunday than just watching this from morning till night? Eee!
That entire arc and backstory on Haku just killed me, and in the end when Zabuza asked to die next to him...
Oh god, yeah. I loved the arc/backstory, but the end just *killed* me. So wonderful and sweet and tragic! As soon as I finish the eps I still have ahead of me, I'm so going back to that arc again.
And how much do I love this series? I have the new FMA downloaded, and I'm grumping about having to stop watching Naruto to view it! I'm supposing I'll just save it until I'm finished... Which is odd, since last week I would have dropped anything and everything for a new FMA ep.
but I wish there were unlimited amount of episodes available to me all at once.
The only bad thing about watching them all at once is that the flashbacks have started to annoy me. I know it's because I watched all of the series over a two day period, but last night I was like "Gah! NO MORE FLASHBACKS! Stop! Stop! No! Not those dots over everything again!". Seems like some eps were over half flashback -- which wouldn't be so bad for people watching it weekly, I suppose.
I actually didn't find Sasuke that interesting until he got bitten by Orochimaru
As a character instead of just eye candy, yeah. He's tres interesting now, a lot more than he was earlier. Orochimaru's got my interest, too. It's rather cool that he just tells the enemy his plans (the back room during those prelim battles).
Oh, speaking of those battles, it amused me that the dog-guy's name is Kiba. I wonder if there's some canine pun or rhyme to that name? The lead wolfy guy in Wolf's Rain was named that, too... (Or maybe the Naruto writers were just making a joke or reference to that series.)
Kabuto! Oh yes, he's another I'm watching. At first I just liked him based on looks (mm, nice hair and sexy glasses), but the whole spy thing is very, very interesting.
I'm glad the writers have covered why Choji, Ino, and ...that third one, the lazy one (forgot his name) are even taking these tests. They seem so useless and unworthy, but at least in the individual fights they've been not bad. (Though I haven't seen Choji battle yet. And have you noticed that it looks like he wears underwear on his head?)
Oh, and is there a reason that you know of that Hayate appears rather sick through his judging of the battles? (Or would answering that be a spoiler?) Poor fellow sounds like he should be recovering in bed...

Date: 2004-01-12 12:17 pm (UTC)I am definitely not complaining about the time I spent watching this. I'm in that first flush of series love. <3
~laughs~ I haven't watched FMA 14 yet either. Waiting till I finish catching up with Naruto first.
God yes, the flashbacks are annoying. I'm so tempted to forward past them, and a few times I have.
I am so intrigued by Orochimaru and his seal on Sasuke and how the two will interact in the future. I want to see more character development for Sasuke too. ~is all excited~
Hmm, if there's a pun for Kiba, I'm not sure. I know that in Kiba's last name, the "inu" in Inuzuka is the character for dog. Kiba is so cute. He has little canine fangs. ~fangirl squeal~
Waaaaaaah. I'm traumatized by underwear!head!Choji. XD I have to go look at that more carefully.
They never explained Hayate's coughing, so I'm not too sure on that.

Hm. I wonder if there's something in the manga that they're not adding to the anime? That doesn't seem likely as I'm told they're following it really, really closely, but it seems odd to have something like that for no reason...
