Ack and arg! Gon's fight against the ninja in the last of the Hunter tests... gods above, I know it wasn't graphic and blood-splattering-on-the-walls, but gah! I almost couldn't watch! Though we could know more about Hanzo's character, I've liked him for a while now, but gah... I know he had to fight Gon, but beating up a kid? All but torturing him? Breaking his arm? I'm at a loss for what to feel about him now. He *had* to do it, but... gah. My stomach was turning and I kept wanting to look away from the screen (if I hadn't needed to read subtitles, I would have). I haven't seen the end of the fight yet, I suppose it'll be in the next ep.

I hope I can get the last of the series downloaded. The last ten eps, two torrents, appear dead. :/ One other client is connected, but we're both at 0% and there are no seeds. I guess if I have to, I'll download the 62 ep chunk, but that'll be such a pain to get just a couple eps from. (And any darned torrent that's on Suprnova gets sucky single-digit download speeds, so it'll take forever.)

Walking/exercising: It's such an odd thing, wanting to exercise. During the last couple hours of work I've been looking forward to the end of the day not to get home, but so that I can go walking. I don't want to walk seven days a week, but I keep saying to myself "Oh, tomorrow I'll skip!"

Every other day I increase the distance by one "property" (I walk on residential streets, so I measure it by houses). I wonder if I keep going slowly like that if I'll ever hit a limit to how much I can increase? Or if someone goes slowly like that, can they eventually walk for miles and miles and miles? Do you hit a wall eventually?

The hand weights are fun for a different reason: Once I finish with them and put them down, it feels like my hands are being pulled by strings -- like I'm using zero of my own power to move them. They're so light! Weightless!

I'm thinking it'd be cool to get ankle weights to wear during the day. I'd like to use wrist weights, but they'd be visible so wouldn't be good. I'm going to check on eBay and a couple websites to see about prices and how small/thin they are (don't want them seen while I'm at work).

Not to mock you non-CA folks, but the weather here is just perfect. Warm (not hot, not cold, not cool, perfectly warm), a light breeze, and tons of California sun. And best of all, this will go on for the next five months or so! :) I was talking to someone today and told them I can't believe people people actually live in states where there is snow and really cold weather and really hot weather in the summer. Don't you all know California has nearly perfect weather year-round? :)

Yes...yes I do. Want to know why? Cause I have to listen to Kasra complain about it every other day XD
I love the bitch...really.

*laughs* Complain about it? What's there to complain about? What, does she like sub-freezing temps and ice all over the place? ;)

Yes ^_^;; She grew up in Penn. so she really hates the constant good weather. I wouldn't mind, but I do like the cold and snow every now and then when it's supposed to happen.

I love that weightless feeling after taking off something heavy! I always relish it after taking off skates.

As for the walking, I think most people who do it and enjoy it do indeed work up to some pretty impressive daily mileage- probably it ends up being more of a time issue than a fatigue issue that prevents people from just walking all the way to Texas. I used to have an English professor who walked 6 miles every morning at dawn. She used to keep track of how much money she found while on her walks, and I seem to recall it was quite a tidy sum!

Isn't the weather great this week? Some friends and I were scheduled to go boogie-boarding today, but someone's sick kid put the kibosh on that. Tasty waves rescheduled for Friday. Ah, California... the schools suck, but surf's up, anyway! :)

Ah, true, I guess eventually time would be an issue. (It'll be a long while until it becomes an issue for me, but eventually!) *giggle* Could you imagine walking to Texas or someplace far like that? What an adventure that'd be!

Aw, sorry about the boogie-boarding!

Ah, California... the schools suck, but surf's up, anyway!

True, yeah. Kidless me never thinks about schools! :)

Well, enjoy the spring weather!

I was just thinking the same thing about California weather today. It was really beautiful today, my boyfriend was talking about it too~

Yay wanting to exercise!

You will probably find yourself needing to drink water if you go more than an hour and a half (depending on the heat - in summer you'll probably need water after only 20 minutes!) and you'll probably need to eat food after 2-2.5 hours. But other than that, as Laurel said, it's a time thing more than a fatigue thing, if you work up to it.

I've dayhiked (so on a trail, with a relatively light pack, maybe 10-15 lbs) 16 miles. That's the farthest I've walked in a day, although I know people who have walked far longer. Oh, I take it back, I dayhiked 18 miles once but most of it was downhill, and I had no pack at all (burro carrying my stuff).

That's so cool! I'm no where, no where even close to that now, but I'd love to be able to eventually get up to that dayhike range!

Thanks for the advice!

I'll have you know that I love Houston in February. Cold, dismal, and soaking wet. Infinitely better than March-November, which alternates between 'Glub...can't breathe...so moist,' 'Yargh! Ze skin! She burns!' and the seemingly impossible combination of the two.

I've got a friend who just moved out thataways, and he's been trying to get me to do likewise. Who knows, maybe someday. First, I need to be not poor.

*So jealous over weather* ::sigh::

But re. the ankle weights, I wouldn't rec. them for anything other than static leg exercises (i.e. standing/sitting leg lifts) because of the possible damage that can result to your knee ligaments (due to the extra outward force that will be exerted each time you take a step. esp. if you walk fast)

Oh, thank you for the comment then! I wanted to wear them all the time I was awake, but I very much don't want to put any more stress on my knees (they have problems already, which is why I'm building up my walking so slowly).

I'm glad I decided to check my email before hitting eBay. Thanks!

Yes, unless you turn.

If I could've found a decent job and stayed in Paradise, believe me, I would've. Damned recession.

Ankle and wrist weights for use during the actual walking are very good, actually, and you can buy a set for I think about $10 at Big 5 or SportsMart.

I got mine at Big 5. They're actually modular, with 5 tiny tubes (per wrist/ankle) of sand which are 1 lb. each. You can add them in per pound. So, start with only 1 lb. of weight, then work your way up to 5.

They're good on the wrists while walking if you make yourself move your arms around. Your arms will have the extra weight/resistance to work against.

Good luck! And keep having fun!

Wow, that's a good price! On eBay, they tended towards $15 for the postage alone (in this case, I figured that was at least semi-understandable, them being so heavy).

Thanks!
