Man, people are so different this season. Jenna, who was smoking crack last week, proves she's smoking it this week as well. What the heck was she thinking? She's an idiot, and I don't even totally believe this is all about her mother (the early leaving). I think she was totally wrong to have come out to the island to begin with though...

Rupert, Rupert... he must be being hurt by having just left the last Survivor season and come straight to this one. (That or the producers are trying to show him in a worse light...) He's coming off as something of an ass.

While the massive product placement isn't anything new, it's annoying me more this season.

...Wow. I'm typing this up as I was "watching" (just listening to) the end of the show. I happened to glance over and saw the text about Jenna's mother dying eight days later. That's damned scary...

When I saw she was doing the show a second time I had no sympathy for her at all. She was worried about her mother during the first show-- shouldn't that have been a clue for her not to have returned? In the grand scheme of things it seemed a really petty thing to undertake given her situation, and even though I like to think I don't judge people harshly I can't help but wonder why she even went out.

I suspect that Rupurt is no more or less of an ass now than he was first season, he's just being painted a bit differently. The log cabin thing was a good idea, far sturdier than some of the other ideas, but digging down into sand was a truly lousy choice.

Totally agreed on Jenna. She should have had a major clue not to go, but...

I wonder why they're painting him differently? To soften the blow when he soon gets voted out? Or to tear him down then build his "character" up again?

I wonder-- does the Mary Ellis Bunnim team edit the footage after the final result is already known? I have no idea of when the game is actually taking place-- is it all over now, for example? If he takes a different role in this survivor, a no more Mr Nice Guy kind of thing they'd want to portray that. I know that on The Real World they wound up showing about 1% of their waking hours. You could probably make me either look like Mother Theresa or the biggest bitch in the world if you picked out the right 1%. Maybe they're just wanting to shake things up a bit.

Oh, and Richard Hatch and the shark? Wow. Just wow. (Imagine being the camera operator on that one. "What did you do today, honey?" "Well, I filmed a man being bitten by a shark, and then he bit the shark, and I got it all on film!")

The game is totally done now, other than the last few minutes when they'll show the results of the final vote. I believe they do all the editing knowing the outcome. And I totally agree, they can make these people look like saints or demons, they'd just have that much footage (totally 24/7, they even film them going to the bathroom and stuff).

Yeah! Hatch is coming off better and better, and his tribe loves him! (Or at least they're hiding the fact that they're using him...)
