(Anime above the line, other stuff below it.)

The LAST dubbing of PoT 107 is seriously sucky quality. Really poor video and subtitles which bleed. Something to keep in mind in your downloading decisions.

I didn't watch any raws till 110, so all this is still new to me. I'm really not too sure what I thought about the ep... I liked snarky!Ryoma, but... I'm really tired of things getting resolved so quickly. Why can't he be human? Have fears he can't overcome? He's just a kid, he shouldn't be perfect... (Of course this isn't new, it's just been getting to me lately.)

Oh well. Also watched two PeaceMaker Kurogane eps and a Full Moon wo Sagashite ep. (I'm finding that I need to watch Full Moon in smaller doses now, or the silliness/lightness/girly-girly-worries make me grumble; I guess I've recovered from my overdose of darkness.)

It's a sad thing when you get offered a free meal and ponder turning it down. We have someplace called Baja Fresh that just opened up the street, and they're offering a free entree to anyone who comes in with the coupon. Problem is, it's Mexican... I have no idea what guacamole is (other than it's green), but they appear to put it on everything. And 'Verde' (as in 'Salsa Verde')? Bah... So I checked their salads, cause I eat those. Found a simple one with just lettuce and beans (and guacamole, of course), and it was 1100 calories!! Gods, how can a salad be over a thousand calories? So I checked the beans, just because I haven't had them yet and I'd like to work them in as an option: 300-400 calories, depending on the type. Buh? I thought they were supposed to be good for you? So yeah, whatever. I'll go or not (probably not). Maybe I'll give the coupon to someone at work, that'd probably make someone happy...

I have a horrible headache and I'm annoyed at everything. I better sleep tonight -- I'm going to need it for the next weeks of hell work.

Oh, one last thing. Did you know that dinosaurs existed at the same time as man? Really! I read it in the new Jack Chick comic-thing.

That made me consider. They should have put dinosaurs in Passion of the Christ! Rarrr! Raptors chasing the Romans, T-Rexes stomping through the crowds...

Well, I'll leave you with one thought:

So see you there!

Guacamole is mostly avocados.

Ah... I've never had an avocado, either... (I'm a bad Californian. I think the're grown here or are the state fruit or something.)

They're kind of oily and full of calories. (Hence the state of your salad.)

But they're also rrrrrrrreally good.

Oh, well then maybe it's good that I don't like them! :)

Actually, Baja Fresh is kinda like Subway in that they have all the ingredients in front of you, and they make it while you watch. So you can always substitute something you don't like or just leave it off completely. And the guacamole and sour cream are extra so those aren't a problem in you don't like them. (Don't worry, I think avocados are disgusting. They have this firm but mushy texture that icks me out!)

They have a couple of different beans or a mixture of onions and peppers, and several kinds of salsa (my favorite is the pico de gallo). It's funny, I'm a really picky eater but Tex-Mex food is the one that gives me the most choices.

I don't know why someone not knowing what guacamole is strikes me as so odd. But yeah, it's mostly mashed up avacado, along with things like onion, garlic, tomato, and lemon juice. Generally used as either a dip, or a topping. Good stuff.

Also, the issue about 'Mexican' food. Actual Mexican food would probably be unrecognizable as such to most Americans...there's plenty of authentic fare to be had (at least in the proper places, like here), but that's in little taquerias and the like. Tex-Mex is fairly prolific in the States, and that and certain Southwestern fusions are the most common 'Mexican food' north of the border. Of course, in many states, it's extremely watered down...Never eat Mexican food in Minnesota after living in Texas. It's sad, sad, sad.

Yeah, I don't know what sort of Mexican-inspired food it is exactly, but calling it 'Mexican' is easiest. There's some cooking show I watch on PBS that always features real Mexican food (from Mexico, usually filmed there too), so I know what it is.

Hm, I think the host/chef's name is Rich... Bayless? Though I'm probably spelling it wrong. Bailess, Baeles, something like that.

Well yeah, we normally just call it Mexican, too. Just thought I'd mention it, as, you know, you didn't know what guacamole was. :)

Quesadilla is a fairly safe thing to get at baja's, it's cheese and a tortilla and that's it. Looks like it also comes "vegetarian style" for a tad extra (probably with some veggies inside). Bean and cheese burrito would be pretty safe too.

Ah, the quesadilla sounds good! Sort of like a grilled cheese, maybe.

Thanks for the ideas! :)

People who believe in evolution can still believe in god. I'm reading a book written by an avid avid christian who explains scientific facts in ways that shows that the bible doesn't contradict certain things, but it's people's interpretations that can be blamed. It's really interesting. Heh actually I'm reading it for the mere purpose of if I get into an argument one day with a religious person I can defend myself. :P

*laughs* That's a good reason!

I think I can understand how someone could say they believe in both, but... I'm not sure they can! If that makes sense...

The further apart 'god' and 'science' are, the happier I am.

God said He made the first dinosaur and the first man on the same day...

Now, that is blasphemic. It is a well-known fact that god made man on the sixth day, as the crowning glory of creation. This person degrades men to the level of lizards. I am shocked.

*snicker* What god would make giant meat-eaters and man on the same day? I could see him creating the first Rex and the first man, placing them down on the ground, then face-palming as the dinosaur ate the human.

Yeah, I've only been downloading A-O's version for consistency, so I haven't seen Last's version. Eh, other than a few entertaining episodes here and there, I've been kind of blah about TeniPuri anime lately. Still enjoying the manga though. I've just finished FMwS last night, and I did want to tell you that it gets a lot more serious as the series progresses, and it gets more angsty as well. I'd still recommend it, because although in terms of shoujo anime it's not on the level of Juuni Kokki or Princess Tutu, it's still better than the average.

I'm sorry about things at work, and if I could, I would kick your boss and coworker for you. Hope you feel a little better today. =)

I'm sort of surprised it can be un-serious right now. The girl knows she only has a year to live, and even if she's living her dream right now, knowing she only has a year until she dies should be making her twitch... (We the viewers got that hint that there's someone who could change her fate, but *she* doesn't know that.) I'll be interested in seeing how it changes!

Ah yeah, avacado...

I dunno if this is any help or not, but avacado are very high in fat and calories, while low in carbs. It's the only fruit you're allowed in Induction on Atkins, so maybe that says something?

*snickers* Oh. And avacado makes me sick. Icky. ;)

...Those comic/add things creep the hell outta me, too. *snickers lots* Apparently not literally, though. Pardon me, evil is calling my name!

Ironically, I just took a quiz this morning that said that...

C'mon folks, look at this face! Does this look like the face of evil to you? Huh? Huh??

...Don't answer that.
