Heehee. You've known me for a while now, right? So you know I've not always been completely sane? At one time in my life (not too many years ago) I actually wanted to live there! In the cold! In the snow! With the sled dogs! (Okay, the dogs wouldn't have been so bad...)

I've since gotten over that wish, but I still like the place. Maybe one day my weak California blood will thicken and I'll once more ponder moving north.

Clare Bell is the person who wrote a series of books, the same series that my user name comes from. :) The funny thing is, in the (very small) fandom around the series, no one can spell her name! I listed it as an interest in all the different ways people misspell it to make it easier for other fans to find.

It was a really good series of books (about a small group of intelligent cats who kept herds of non-intelligent animals and struggled against masses of non-intelligent cats), but they've been out of print for a long time and she no longer writes. Interestingly, she lives only 20 miles or so from me! I've exchanged emails with her. :)

Okay, given your squeamishness about stuff from and in the sea, I am completely baffled by your giant squid interest. That's more my cup o' tea than yours, if you know what I mean.

*laughs* That's a good one! You read Harry Potter, if I recall correctly? (If you don't, then I'm recalling incorrectly!) There's a giant squid in the books (it gets like one sentence per book), but because it's such a tiny part, it amuses people to write all about him. He's been in fics (even slash!) and all sorts of drabbles. I've used him a couple of times myself!

Real squids are icky and smushy and see-through-y and yucky! ;)

See, when you have people you hate, you add that interest to your profile... then you just have to make sure the person or people you hate don't list it as well!
