There's little so nice as mixing beautiful music together with jaw-dropping animation. Wonderful Days, an upcoming movie, lives up to the first word of its title.

Official website.

On the official website, you can download a three minute preview of the movie. I've watched it more than twenty times between last night and this morning. (And I'm downloading the whole movie now, woo woo!) I'd highly recommend you get one of the higher resolution ones -- this thing has so many details, you'll need the larger image to enjoy them all.

I seriously debated including screenshots with this post or not. The problem is, the screenshots do the trailer no justice at all. The textures in it are so real, and the backgrounds so realistic! It looks like anime characters slapped onto real life settings.

I saved the files at the highest quality I could, but they still lost tons of texture and details:

* Stormy weather, distant city.
* This one lost the most of all of them. The golden shells were so shiny and pretty in the trailer! They look dead and flat here. Bah.
* Lots of details were lost in this one, but you can get an idea of how much goes on in each shot.

So download it and enjoy it! You'll be happy you did!

Boy, am I tired of being sick! This is my third day of having serious pain on one side of my throat when I try to swallow. Hurts to turn my head in that direction as well. And yawning? For some reason, opening my mouth wide produces so much throat-pain it makes me want to scream. Luckily I have a doctor's appointment on Monday, so if it's still hurting then, I'll ask her to look at it as well. Assuming I live until Monday. :p

We showed Wonderful Days at our university anime society last term, I think. I agree with you about the backgrounds - they are wonderfully done, and utterly gorgeous. I wasn't so fond of the way the characters were drawn, but I got used to it after a while.

Actually, the weirdest thing about the film was watching it and not understanding a word of it, rather than watching it and being able to understand a few words and verb endings. I haven't had much experience with Korean. It sounds very different to Japanese, as I remember...

I noticed the difference in how the characters were drawn, too. I thought maybe they were trying to make them look Korean more than Japanese?

Luckily the version I'm getting has subtitles, since I know zero Korean!
