28 days later, it's Fanime Con!
May. 15th, 2004 11:15 pm28 Days Later was on tonight, so I caught it. Eek! Pretty darned good movie, even if the characters made one stupid as hell decision after another. Why can't characters in movies do logical things?
The characters know: The monsters/zombies/infected folks only come out at night.
The scene: They're driving along and come to a long, dark tunnel.
Do they:
1) Take one of the route around the tunnel
2) Go through the DARK tunnel
Of course they go into the dark! When they all know these creatures only live/move/attack in the dark!
Still, it was an enjoyable movie. Somehow it was scary, even if I knew every plot "twist" before it happened. (Who the hell would trust the Army if everyone else in the world died of some virus? Hello? The Army would more likely capture you and test on you than help you! Didn't you people read The Stand? :p )

I noticed that Fanime Con is the end of the month, and I got to wondering why the heck they weren't sending me any email, so I hit their site. If you pre-registered, you'll want to look here: http://www.fanime.com/registration/pickup.html#prereg.
It really doesn't make me feel comfortable at all that these people did not email that information.
I'm going to go pick up my badge or whatever after work on Thursday. While I say "I hope the lines won't be too long", I suspect they will be. That'll suck, but... I suppose I should get used to that for the con's weekend.
---
Assorted stuff:
* Wow. I'm watching the news as I type this up. The father of the man who was beheaded in Iraq is a brave, well-spoken fellow. He's blaming Bush as much as the people who did the actual beheading. I didn't expect that. Poor fellow, he seems really nice.
* I finished Stephen King's Dreamcatcher today. The ending was pretty weak, but the story up until it was good. Worth reading, if you have nothing else.
* The other day I noticed that there was a Hyper running around in FFXI, which of course made me think of
peppygrowlithe/Hyper. Hyper's level of suckiness makes me giggle:

Oops, there's a typo in there! Better try again:

I have lots of other screenshots, I just haven't had time to deal with them. Zzzz, sleepy time!

Date: 2004-05-16 10:28 am (UTC)We Hypers and Peppys have a strong uphill battle to fight. 99% of us are idiots. Alas!
(Yes, I'm included in that 99%. ;) )
((Don't hit me, I'm being silly!))
